FORT MYERS http://www.twinsfanproshop.com/authentic-justin-morneau-jersey , Fla. (AP) — Michael Pineda thinks he’ll be ready to return to the major leagues with the Minnesota Twins after a layoff of 1½ seasons.Pineda needed Tommy John surgery in 2017 while with the New York Yankees. He signed with the Twins in December 2017 and as he neared a return late last season, he tore the meniscus in his right knee. The 30-year-old right-hander hasn’t pitched in the major leagues since July 5, 2017. Nine days later, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman revealed the injury, and Cincinnati Reds medical director Dr. Timothy Kremchek operated that July 18.“Right now, I feel great,” Pineda said. “I came here to spring training early. I came in here ready to emerge.”At 6-foot-7, Pineda has long generated great expectations. Yet, he was 40-41 with a 4.05 ERA for the Yankees, including an 8-4 record at the time of the injury. He became a free agent after the season and signed a $10 million, two-year deal with Minnesota that included a $2 million salary in his first season. Pineda made four injury rehabilitation starts in the minor leagues last summer, then hurt the knee.“It’s very hard and frustrating doing rehab,” Pineda said. “Nobody likes doing rehab. My mentality has always been be strong because this is a gift right now Kirby Puckett Jersey , a baseball life. Whatever happens, you have to be strong mentally.Minnesota projects him to be part of its rotation.“I actually don’t look at it quite like a wild card,” new manager Rocco Baldelli said. “We have expectations for him because he’s put himself in a great spot. Physically, he’s worked exceptionally hard. He’s spent a lot of time here this offseason getting his work in. He’s in great shape.” CLEVELAND (AP) Nothing splashy, just sensible. The Cleveland Indians stabilized their shaky outfield without making a blockbuster trade.Riddled by injuries to outfielders all season, Cleveland acquired center fielder Leonys Martin from the Detroit Tigers before Tuesday’s deadline for 21-year-old infield prospect Willi Castro. The AL Central-leading Indians also received right-hander Kyle Dowdy.Although they had been linked to talks involving more high-profile outfielders like superstar Bryce Harper, Adam Jones and others, the Indians opted to make a deal that wouldn’t be too damaging to their future. Manager Terry Francona had high praise for his front office.”They did a really good job. It’s not easy,” Francona said. ”We have some parameters which we know are in place. We’re not going to be the Dodgers or the Red Sox. But we don’t want that to get in the way of us winning, and I think they’ve done an unbelievable job of making us better.”The 30-year-old Martin is a steady hitter and strong fielder who will take away runs for Cleveland’s pitching staff. He leads the league with nine assists. He also gives Francona another option in center field with Bradley Zimmer done for the season following shoulder surgery and Tyler Naquin on the disabled list with a hip injury.”It’s been a position that’s been a little bit in flux for us for a balance of the season, so we explored a lot of alternatives to try and address and improve our outfield options,” team president Chris Antonetti said. ”And we were really pleased to be able to acquire Leonys Martin. We think he’s a great complement to our roster. He provides us a very good defender in center field who’s a good baserunner, capable of playing both center and right http://www.twinsfanproshop.com/authentic-byron-buxton-jersey , and is also a very good offensive player against right-handed pitching.”The Indians made a second move before the deadline, acquiring outfielder Oscar Mercado from St. Louis for outfielders Conner Capel and Jhon Torres.Because of injuries, Cleveland was down to Greg Allen and 37-year-old Rajai Davis as their center fielders. Also, right fielder Lonnie Chisenhall is out with a nagging calf injury.”When it was all said and done, you’re like, `OK, what can really impact us?’ A center fielder that compliments Raj,” Francona said. ”I think sometimes people lose track of, OK, what’s your roster and what compliments what?”Martin has twice been on the disabled list this season with a left hamstring injury, but Antonetti is confident he’s healthy and ready to help the Indians immediately. The trade for Martin followed Cleveland fixing its worrisome bullpen. On July 19, the club sent top prospect Francisco Mejia, a switch-hitting catcher/outfielder Ervin Santana Jersey , to the San Diego Padres for All-Star closer Brad Hand and sidearmer Adam Cimber. That major move may have impacted the Indians’ willingness to get into a bidding war for Harper, who remains with Washington.Martin batted .251 with nine homers and 29 RBIs in 336 plate appearances this season for the Tigers, who were 18 games behind Cleveland at the deadline. Martin has scored 78 runs in his first season with Detroit. The Cuba native has a .248 average with 47 homers and 205 RBIs in 699 games with Texas, Seattle, the Chicago Cubs and the Tigers. The Tigers began rebuilding in earnest last season, when they traded J.D. Martinez, Justin Upton and Justin Verlander. Their trade candidates this year were a little less prominent, but they were able to move Martin.”It came about from their need in center field. I had a couple other inquiries on Martin. Cleveland was the most aggressive. They obviously had, probably the biggest need at this point,” Detroit general manager Al Avila said. ”We had identified Castro as the guy that would be the main guy in the deal, and quite frankly, we held off to the end there to be able to get him.”Martin has a $1.75 million salary, of which the Indians are responsible for $573 http://www.twinsfanproshop.com/authentic-miguel-sano-jersey ,925. He has earned $600,000 in bonuses based on plate appearances, and would earn $100,000 each for 350 and each additional 25 through 475 plus $50,000 for 500.More importantly, he is under club control through next season through arbitration.Dowdy, 25, is 8-8 with a 4.74 ERA between Double-A Erie and Triple-A Toledo this season.Castro batted .245 at Double-A Akron with five homers and 39 RBIs.—

Chiefs’ 14-point comeback proves which team had more grit Monday night There are a lot of reasons the Broncos blew a 10-point lead to the Chiefs last night and gave themselves an “L” that should have been a “W.”As in ... many Youth Darian Stewart Jersey , numerous, more than one.We could start with the refs’ missed call on the play clock that’s easy to get mad about but not necessarily a game-changing mistake. We could berate Marquette King for a 35-freaking-yard punt when he needed to pin Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs much deeper to help the defense. We could complain about Shaquill Barrett not covering Demetrius Harris better and allowing a huge third-down conversion to keep a drive alive that lead to a go-ahead touchdown a few plays later. We could debate whether zone or man coverage was the better call on 2nd-and-30 where Mahomes scrambled for what felt like 110 seconds and then hit Demarcus Robinson for a 23-yard gain.We could bemoan the Broncos’ offense for going three-and-out at the worst possible moment with just over six minutes left, leading by just three. But it doesn’t matter which one thing was more to blame because each reason by itself could have meant the loss just as one not occurring could have meant a win.“We were winning,” Von Miller said. “We were playing pretty good defense. We had a great drive where we had a great stand at the goal line where we held them to three points. I think that was right after the half. Offense went down and scored. The energy was up. We were up by 10 and then let them score 14 straight.”Maybe a penalty for delay of game and a 3rd-and-12 would have been just enough of a momentum-buster for the Chiefs to fail on their third-down conversion and be stymied in the comeback quest.“That was crazy, man,” Chris Harris Jr. said. “It’s delay. It’s zero on the clock forever鈥?That was a huge, huge no-call.”Domata Peko was particularly annoyed about the potential impact, as he told Ryan Koenigsberg of BSN Denver. There’s no way of knowing if Mahomes would have completed 3rd-and-12 the same frustratingly amazing way he completed 3rd-and-7, but it might have changed the play calls and could have had a very different outcome. Or maybe not.Without a penalty leading to a change of possession or taking away a go-ahead score, that missed call didn’t necessarily change who won the game. The Broncos did that one all on their own. After controlling the game, keeping “Showtime Mahomes” in check and staying one step ahead on scoring, it was really the Broncos offense that failed first.By the end of the third quarter, the Broncos had just gone up 20-13 thanks to a Phillip Lindsay touchdown, and then the defense held KC to a three-and-out, causing Andy Reid to sit down next to his young QB for a pep talk. After a gigantic 32-yard reception by Andy Janovich, the offense couldn’t take advantage in a costly drive, but Brandon McManus’ 46-yarder added some buffer before the Chiefs engineered a 12-play, six-minute drive to bring the game within three. All the Broncos’ offense needed to do was what it had been doing most of the previous three quarters - control the clock, run the ball, get first downs. It did none of those, choosing instead to go three-and-out at the worst possible time in the game. The defense had just been on the field, chasing the elusive Mahomes all over the place, and now one minute later, it had to do it again. It was where the game truly broke down for the Broncos.“We’ve got to do a better job late in the game http://www.authenticsdenverbroncos.com/cheap-justin-simmons-jersey , we’re up by 10 points. We’ve got to put together a drive, we can’t go three and out,” quarterback Case Keenum said. “That one is kind of glaring in my mind right now. That’s what I want to watch, talk through my decision-making at that point.”King followed with a 35-yard punt that put the Chiefs mid-field with 4:35 left in the game.In other words, an eternity for the quarterback who could run across the field, have his legs wrapped up by Von Miller, then switch hands and “push” a throw to his receiver with his left hand and complete a first down.“He’s fast. We’ve got to get him down. That’s just plain and simple,” Miller noted, who had two QB hits but zero sacks. “He’s pretty fast. He’ll run all day, buy time and especially to the right, deep. I’m talking like 20 yards deep and then he’ll throw the ball 40 yards. He’s a great quarterback. He did a great job tonight.”Despite the questionable defensive coverage calls on that final Chiefs drive - choosing man over zone on long-yardage plays - every Broncos fan knew it would come down to the offense to mount a comeback score. And it fell short in every way possible. A sack on first down set up 2nd-and-20. With the help of Emmanuel Sanders, Keenum got the offense out of a 4th-and-11 before throwing to Jeff Heuermann for a big gain, a new set of downs and still 30 seconds to go for the end zone. The offense promptly wasted all of it with three incompletes, including an overthrow to Demaryius Thomas just steps from the end zone that had #MileHighMiracle written all over it.“There’s not much time left and you do whatever you can do to try to take a shot,” Keenum said. “It was close. I want to watch it on film, but it felt really close. There’s a few, especially those type of plays that I’ll lose a little sleep over, thinking about it, laying at night in bed. It’s a tough one. It stings.”That’s an understatement. But the defense seems to be taking it the hardest since Mahomes and the Chiefs scored 14 unanswered points in the second half.“Yeah, I think it is very frustrating because we felt like we outplayed this team, out-schemed this team, and it came down really to three plays defensively at the very end that cost us,” Shane Ray said. “It is very frustrating.I don’t like to lose, no one does White Case Keenum Jersey , obviously. When it’s a game like this where we definitely should have won, it doesn’t feel good.”Harris Jr. said the Broncos “just didn’t finish.”“We’ve got to close that game out,” he said. “We have them 2nd-and-30 and we just let them off the hook.”It would be unfair though to call it “letting them off the hook” when the defense was chasing No. 15 all over the field. In fact, Harris Jr. had to get two IVs because of the maximum effort.“I was covering. [Mahomes] made us cover for a long time鈥?Just playing those extra times, he made us scramble in coverage the whole game. We couldn’t sack this man,” Harris Jr. added. “He’s a hell of a player, he’s a hell of a quarterback. He made plays with his feet, and I can’t wait to play him again though.”Perhaps the defense can have a chat with the offense, which was unable to score more than two touchdowns and only got 23 points against a defense that had allowed an average of 32 points in its first three games.“We were in great shape. We were good. We just didn’t close out the game and we let them off the hook on a second-and-30, which was crazy,” Harris Jr. said. “I don’t know, I can’t talk about it. Y’all go back and watch the film and see what we do.”Shaq Barrett is taking it even more personally, mad that “his guy” got the third-down conversion that allowed Chiefs to keep driving for the winning TD.“This one is going to hurt, this is going to hurt for a while because I feel like it was my fault for not sticking with my guy,” he said. “So, this one is going to hurt for a long time.”Miller was visibly worn out but stuck to his “back to the lab” script.“It’s tough. It’s like investing in something. You invest 100 percent in everything that you got, and you lose. There is a sense of disappointment,” Miller admitted. “We’ve got to get back to the lab and we’re going to do it again. We’ve got to reload again.”But the Broncos were competitive with one of the best teams in the NFL right now and that has positives players and fans should not lose sight of. The real test will be how the team responds to this loss next week.“We’ve got to reload again,” Miller said. “The great teams do that.” Neil Smith is another reason we all love Steve Atwater. In a few seconds, it will make complete sense. As Ryan Edwards pointed out on Friday’s 1st & 10 @ 10 on Orange & Blue 760, the story Smith shares in interviews is how Atwater is responsible for Smith becoming a member of the Denver Broncos after playing for the Kansas City Chiefs. “Steve Atwater, I love that guy,” Smith said. “He said the right things. He gave me the message: ‘We need you. There’s no doubt if we get you, we gonna win it http://www.authenticsdenverbroncos.com/cheap-jeff-heuerman-jersey , and we gonna win it all.’ That’s all I needed to hear. I felt like I was on a little recruiting trip and Steve said those words. It wasn’t about the money. That was what I needed. When it hit me, I was like, ‘I’m there.’ It was a destiny thing. “I didn’t think about the rivalry game or anything. I just needed to go fill this (championship) void, and that’s what I did. That’s why I can sit here in front of all of your fans and say I chose the right path to solidify my great career.”The interview is so good and so fun. Smith talks about his time in Denver, the team and how much the loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars impacted the team he joined in 1997. And, of course, the interview wouldn’t be complete without a special memory of Pat Bowlen. “What solidified Mr. B to me, and he put a lot of pressure on me as an athlete, he asked the question to me at the beginning,” Smith said. “He said, ‘Neil, do you know why you’re here?’ And I said, ‘Yes, Mr. B, I know why I’m here. I’m here to win.’ He said, ‘No. You’re not here to win, you’re here to win it all.’ So we get through the season and we won the thing, they hand me the trophy and I’m standing up with the trophy on the podium in the press conference room. One of Mr. B’s bodyguards came to me and said, ‘Mr. B would like the trophy now.’ I said ‘give me one second. I will bring it to him.’ “I said, ‘Mr. B, you know why I’m here? Here’s why I’m here.’”As Ryan said, Smith is still one of the players Broncos Country loves.

If the Minnesota Vikings make the playoffs this weekend Youth Sebastian Janikowski Jersey , it will mean that the Seattle Seahawks have played every NFC postseason team this year save for themselves and the New Orleans Saints. In those games, they beat the Dallas Cowboys and Vikings, while losing twice to the LA Rams and once to the Chicago Bears. In my opinion there’s only one team in the NFC — in reality, the whole NFL — that I don’t think you want to face if you don’t have to and that’s the Saints.New Orleans is one home game against the Carolina Panthers away from finishing 14-2 and that alone puts them a step ahead of every team. Records can be deceiving but the Saints’ isn’t. It’s surprising to me that they’re only third in DVOA, but they’re second in weighted DVOA and only .2% behind the Kansas City Chiefs for first. Yes, Drew Brees is the face of the city and having another season appropriate for potentially the best quarterback of all-time but what sets this Saints team apart from the many that have let Brees down over the years is a defense that ranks 10th by DVOA.Consider that New Orleans has twice looked this good: in 2009 and in 2011. They went 13-3 in both of those season with a point differential of +169 in the former and +208 in the latter. This season, they are +170 and actually if they lost 21-20 to the Panthers this Sunday, they’d have the exact same record, point differential, points scored, and points allowed as they did in ‘09.And they won the Super Bowl that year. The issue in 2011 was that there were too many good teams and beyond all reasonable expectations, the Saints won their last eight games, finished 13-3, and still had to play a wild card game. They hosted the Detroit Lions and won 42-28 but then had to go on the road to face the 13-3 San Francisco 49ers. The 15-1 Green Bay Packers took the one-seed (and had an even more disappointing postseason) while San Francisco got the two-seed by way of conference record. The Niners scored 380 points that year, compared to 547 for Brees and co.The Saints went 9-0 at home that season, including the wild card game http://www.seahawksauthorizedshops.com/authentic-barkevious-mingo-jersey , but were just 5-4 on the road following a divisional round loss to the Niners. As you probably recall in that classic game, the lead changed four times in the final four minutes, with Alex Smith giving San Francisco the 36-32 win by way of a touchdown throw to Vernon Davis with :09 seconds left.If that game is played in New Orleans, I could see a different result. This year, the road to the Super Bowl does go through New Orleans. At least, unless you get super lucky and avoid it, which is what the Seahawks should be hoping to do.If Seattle beats the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday, they’ll guarantee themselves the five-seed. If they lose, they open the door for the Minnesota Vikings to take the five and push the Seahawks down to the six. There is only one opponent they could possibly face in that scenario, which would be the Chicago Bears. No, they cannot face the LA Rams in the first round because in order for the Rams to fall to the three seed, it will mean that the Bears beat the Vikings and therefore, Seattle would be the five seed.Say whatever you want about the matchup vs the Cowboys compared to the matchup vs the Bears, here’s what I can guarantee: If the Seahawks are the six seed, and they win, they have no choice but to go to New Orleans. That’s not a scenario I’d be looking forward to and it’s one you want to put on hold while also crossing fingers that somebody can upset the Saints in the same way that the New York Giants shocked everyone and upset the Packers in 2011.But if they’re the five seed Authentic Quinton Jefferson Jersey , there’s still a chance that the Seahawks will play the two seed if they happen to advance past the wild card round. If that team happens to be the Rams, you, me, and everyone we know is aware of how close Seattle was to beating LA in both matchups this season. If it’s the Bears, I’d still say that they present a much more favorable matchup than New Orleans does, even in freezing, outdoor conditions. And of course if the Seahawks secure the five seed and it ends up mattering in that way, i.e. if the six seed upsets the three seed and sends Seattle to the two seed, then it keeps hope alive for the most important scenario of all: not just avoiding New Orleans entirely but hosting an NFC Championship game. All of that is too far down the line to really care about, I know it, but what all of that information actually does is this: gives more weight to Seattle’s game against the Cardinals this Sunday. It does matter. They can’t bank on the Vikings losing. They’re at home vs the worst offense in the NFL. They do need to win this one and move into the playoffs with a 10-6 record and a better opportunity. Seeding has had huge implications throughout NFL playoff history and this is no different. It may seem like a small thing, but this win could actually be very significant. Saturday John Morgan authored a great piece about the type of systems and offenses that the Seattle Seahawks and Brian Schottenheimer could attempt to emulate in working to develop a dominant rushing offense capable of potentially carrying the team forward to the Super Bowl. When it comes to writing skills, I’ll never be qualified to hold John’s athletic supporter, however, when it comes to tables, charts and random factoids Youth Tom Johnson Jersey , I’m the guy you want. Specifically in his piece about the dominant ground based Air Coryell offenses that could serve as a model for the Seahawks going forward, Morgan proposed using the Washington Redskins of the 1980s and the Dallas Cowboys of the mid-1990s as a model. Now, it is certainly true that both of those teams ran ground based variants of the Air Coryell system, but both of the teams he cited existed in a different era in NFL history. Specifically, the 1980s Redskins were dominant before free agency as we know it came into existence, and the Cowboys dynasty fell apart within just a couple of seasons of the salary cap being put into place. Back when both of those teams used a dominant ground game to control the line of scrimmage and win a whole lot of Super Bowls over a little more than a decade the economics of the NFL were far different, particularly for Washington during the 1980s. Because free agency did not exist, every single player on the roster was effectively an exclusive rights free agent in today’s terms. Their options were to play for the contract the team offered, or sit at home. Their only leverage in negotiations was the holdout, and as a group their only leverage came in the form of work stoppages, such as those witnessed in both 1982 and 1987. In any case, I’m not going to belabor my point with a history lesson. Let’s jump right in to looking at the type of continuity those Washington and Dallas teams were able to have up front. We’ll start with the Washington offensive line through the 1980s, by looking at the starters at each position and the number of games played by that player in that particular season. (Author’s note: the 1982 season had only 9 games, while the 1987 season had only 12 games due to the aforementioned work stoppages.) And then we move on to the Dallas lines of the 1990s. You’ll obviously notice that line after 1993 and before 1994, and that is to denote when the salary cap went into effect. Obviously, the impact of the cap was not instantaneous http://www.seahawksauthorizedshops.com/authentic-tre-flowers-jersey , but the change in continuity is rather visible beginning in 1997. Now, for comparison purposes, here we have what the Seahawks offensive line has looked like since 2011. And obviously we see some continuity in the 2013-2014 time frame, before a couple of seasons of massive upheaval and turnover, before returning to a small semblance of continuity in 2018. For readers who remember the question and answer piece with Thomas Emerick from early January, Emerick has done a significant amount of research into the effects of offensive line continuity on success in the run game, and while there are obviously multiple other variables that play an important role, his work has shown that continuity is a key factor. So, fans can hope and dream all they want about building an offense similar to that of Washington back in the 1980s or the Cowboys of the mid 1990s, but at the end of the day, things have changed. The game has changed. The league has changed. Team structure has changed. And as muchas the front office may want to emulate something, to attempt to do so within the confines of a system that has seen drastic alterations over the last two decades seems a task destined for failure.

The Vikings opted to not re-sign Bridgewater or starter Case Keenum, instead giving a fully-guaranteed three-year deal to Kirk Cousins. Bridgewater signed a one-year deal with the Jets that is worth up to $15 million if all incentives are reached. One would assume that by going to the Saints, Bridgewater won’t hit those incentives. In fact, it’s really odd that New Orleans felt that they were the team that had to do this.Brees has missed three games since 2004. He’s 39, but led the NFL in completion percentage last season and is still one of the top five quarterbacks in the league http://www.seattleseahawksteamonline.com/quinton-jefferson-jersey , one could assume. He signed a two-year, $50 million deal in March. Are the Saints worried about something in regards to Brees with the season less than two weeks away, or is this just very cautious insurance for a guy nearing 40? If Bridgewater is a plan for “the future” then what do they plan to do when he becomes a free agent in 2019 and Brees is still under contract for next season? They won’t really have any leverage to re-sign Bridgewater and he would likely leave to look for an opportunity to start. In other NFC QB news, the Green Bay Packers gave Aaron Rodgers a four-year extension that is said to be worth around $134 million with a $57.5 million signing bonus, and is potentially worth up to $180 million. Russell Wilson’s contract will likely be re-negotiated next year. The NFC is still far out-stacking the AFC in terms of quarterbacks, with Bridgewater pushing things a little further that way. The best QBs in the AFC are now Tom Brady, Philip Rivers, and Ben Roethlisberger, all likely nearing retirement. The young players to watch include DeShaun Watson, Marcus Mariota, and Patrick Mahomes, while Andrew Luck http://www.seattleseahawksteamonline.com/michael-dickson-jersey , Derek Carr, and Case Keenum will look to prove themselves again in 2018. The rookies are Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold — now assured to start for the Jets following the Bridgewater trade — and Josh Allen. Ryan Tannehill, Joe Flacco, Andy Dalton, and Blake Bortles round out the bunch. The NFC’s roster of QBs is much stronger and their weakest options include Eli Manning, Sam Bradford, and Mitchell Trubisky. I’d look for the NFC to remain the stronger conference for quite some time.

Heading into the Jets’ Week 6 meeting with the Indianapolis Colts Youth Brian Winters Jersey , let’s take another crack at ranking the top ten contributors on the team in 2018!Previous rankings: Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 4, Week 510. Henry Anderson, DL (Last week: 5th)A slide for Anderson, but this is no slight. It was a quiet game for him, posting just 1 tackle on 49 snaps, but his body of work has been very strong this year.9. Sam Darnold, QB (Last week: 10th)Darnold only threw the ball 22 times as he got the support of a historic running game, and only completed 10 of those passes, but this was his best game thus far in terms of the average quality of his throws. He threw quite a few passes absolutely on the money - very similar throws to the ones he was missing only a week earlier in Jacksonville. It was a promising step forward for him.Darnold has 6 touchdown passes of 20+ yards, tied for the league lead.In his first five weeks in the league, Darnold has now won two starts in which he threw 2+ touchdown passes and accumulated a 95+ quarterback rating. Carson Wentz is the only other quarterback in NFL history to do that.8. Steve McLendon, DT (Last week: 6th)McLendon collected back-to-back stuffs on Denver’s first two runs of the game but did not register a tackle the rest of the way.Regardless, he continues to be a very solid gap penetration and has been the Jets’ best run defender on the defensive line.7. Avery Williamson, ILB (Last week: 7th)Williamson was all over the place stuffing runs in this game, only finishing with one official stuff but having a couple of others wiped out by penalty.I was especially impressed by Williamson’s coverage in this game. Removing a garbage time first down on the last drive of the game, Williamson only allowed 1 of 4 targets in his direction to be caught for 4 yards and no first downs. He’s done a nice job keeping his name out of the coverage box scores this year.6. Leonard Williams, DL (Last week: 9th)Williams shared two sacks and added a solo sack for a box score sack total of 2.0. Now with 3.0 over the last two weeks, he’s already beaten his 2017 total.5. Morris Claiborne, CB (Last week: 8th)You always need to be careful when evaluating the stats of a cornerback, but Claiborne has continued to keep his numbers at an elite level from the very start of the year. He allowed a few garbage time first downs, but overall Claiborne yielded only 6 of 12 passing in his direction for 63 yards, a very strong 5.3 yards per target rate. He broke up 4 passes, including one that turned into a Marcus Maye interception (also in garbage time). Most impressively, Claiborne was eaten alive by this same Broncos receiving core last year, so it was a nice showing of personal progression. Can he keep this up? We’ll have to see. He got very lucky against Miami and Cleveland. However Womens Morris Claiborne Jersey , through five games, you can’t help but love that the man leading Jets cornerbacks in snaps is allowing less than 30 yards per game and a passer rating at the quality level of a practice squad quarterback.4. Quincy Enunwa, WR (Last week: 2nd)It’s been a very quiet past couple of weeks for Enunwa. He averaged 70.7 yards and 4.7 first downs per game over the first three weeks, but has averaged only 33.0 yards and 1.0 first down over the past two.Enunwa collected 66 yards in Week 4 against Jacksonville, but 42 of those were on one play with the Jets down 22 points in the fourth quarter.Outside of that one (fantastic) catch-and-run play, over the past two weeks, Enunwa has caught 3 of 12 targets for 24 yards and 1 first down. Against the Broncos, Enunwa did not register a single catch on 5 targets. To boot, Enunwa had a delay of game penalty against Jacksonville following the big catch and added a holding penalty this past week against Denver. Cold couple of weeks for him.3. Isaiah Crowell, RB (Last week: Unranked)It takes a lot to jump from off the list completely to a top-3 spot, but a franchise rushing record of 219 yards fits that bill.Crowell left Week 5 ranked 3rd in the league in rushing with 390 yards on the year, 2nd in yards per rushing attempt among qualifiers at 6.8, and 2nd in rushing touchdowns with 5.After a frozen-solid 3-week stretch in which Crowell was last in rushing yards per attempt among qualifiers, he busted out an all-time NFL record for yards per attempt in a single game with a minimum of 15 carries, at 14.6.I wrote in the offseason that Crowell is the typical boom-or-bust back. With rushing totals this year of 102, 35, 34, 0, and 219, and yards per attempt rates of 10.2, 2.9, 2.1, 0.0, and 14.6, he could not have done a better job of living up to that label.2. Bilal Powell, RB (Last week: 3rd)Crowell has Powell beat in total scrimmage yards (426 to 369) and total first downs (17 to 14), but on the whole I think Powell’s consistency and versatility have had a better overall impact on the team.Powell has posted at least 52 scrimmage yards in every game, and at least 65 in four. He has posted 3 first downs in 4 of the team’s 5 games. As a pass protector http://www.jetsfootballauthentics.com/brandon-copeland-jersey-authentic , I have tagged Powell for 1 pressure allowed across 15 protection snaps. Comparatively, I’ve tagged Crowell for 4 pressures across 7 snaps. On the downside, Powell did have a fumble early in this game that led to the Jets going down 7-0.You can toss up these two however you want, but on the whole, the Jets running backs have done a very solid job so far this year. Crowell and Powell are one of only two pairs of RBs currently ranked top 20 in scrimmage yards (among RBs), along with the Chargers’ Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler.1. Jamal Adams, S (Last week: 1st)Not much debate here, and it would take a big dip from Adams for there to be one.He continues to keep dead silent in coverage, limiting targets in his direction and tightly contesting the balls that do come his way.His run defense continues to be very strong. Coming unblocked off the edges, his ability to finish low for stuffs has been impressive.Phenomenal start for the 6th overall pick in last year’s draft, who is looking like the player the Jets wanted when they took a safety that high up.Dropped off list:Darron Lee, ILB (was 4th): This is no slight on Lee. I think he has certainly been at least an average starter through five games, which is a huge improvement. However, my biggest gripe is that his run defense has been stuck in the mud. He is continuously a culprit on big runs as he makes poor choices filling gaps. His run stuffing totals are very uninspiring. On the whole, his coverage remains respectable, but he has started to see his production decline in that area over the past couple of games.Knocking on the door:Brandon Shell, RT: By my count, Shell had his second perfectly clean game of the year in pass protection, joining the Week 1 game in Detroit. He also only has one penalty on the year, and I’ve tagged him for only 3 stuffs allowed in the run game. Both of those perfect games were with the Jets throwing fewer than 25 passes, but that’s still an impressive feat for the young tackle. If he can maintain that consistency and avoid disasters like he had in Jacksonville, he’ll have a shot to represent the offensive line on this list.Robby Anderson, WR: The connection finally came to life! While Anderson’s fumble issues were frustrating, and on the whole his lack of production has been maddening, Anderson has actually been more productive this year than he was at this point of the season last year.Robby Anderson through Week 5 in 2017: 14 catches, 29 targets, 220 yards (7.58/target), 1 touchdownRobby Anderson through Week 5 in 2018: 11 catches http://www.jetsfootballauthentics.com/jordan-jenkins-jersey-authentic , 21 targets, 231 yards (11.0/target), 3 touchdownsAveraging 21.0 yards per reception, he currently trails only DeSean Jackson among 148 qualifiers in the stat. Here’s a look at the season progression of the list. NEW YORK (AP) — Sam Darnold had a tough time sitting through film of the game. New York Jets fans certainly know the feeling. After throwing four interceptions in an ugly 13-6 loss at Miami on Sunday , the rookie quarterback shouldered the blame and was looking for answers."For me, it's just not playing to the best of my ability and, quite frankly, just playing stupid," Darnold said Monday. "I thought I played stupid football yesterday and I've just got to be better. I know that, the coaches know that and everyone knows that." Well, yeah. But Darnold isn't alone. Not by any stretch. Most of the venom from frustrated fans on social media and sports talk radio was directed at coach Todd Bowles, whose hold on his job has become increasingly tenuous as the Jets (3-6) head toward another year — it would be eight straight — without making the playoffs."I'm sick of losing," second-year safety Jamal Adams said after the game. "I'm not a loser. I want to get back on the winning track. We've lost three straight? Come on, man."This is now a franchise staring at a crossroads. The Jets have a home game Sunday against the bumbling Buffalo Bills (2-7), who somehow look even more inept than their AFC East counterparts."I think it's huge," Bowles acknowledged. "It's our next game. It's a division rivalry. … Winning takes care of a lot problems and a lot of issues. It's important for us to win the next ballgame."A loss at MetLife Stadium will raise the heat under Bowles' seat to scorching levels. And, it could force owner Christopher Johnson to seriously re-evaluate things — especially with the team heading into a bye-week break."People are obviously a little upset, a little disappointed, coming off three straight losses," defensive lineman Leonard Williams said. "We definitely needed this one. It was a division game and we talked all week about how important it was for us to get this win."And, they still lost. But there are enough culprits to share the blame."It's not just Sam, it's the team, period," Bowles said. "Yesterday, it was mainly the offense. It was tweaks here and there, but we just have to play better and execute as a whole."Darnold, of course, had his worst game to date. Center Spencer Long had several wayward shotgun snaps because of a reinjured right middle finger before Bowles finally pulled him from the game. Jeremy Bates' offense seemed stuck in neutral Womens Kelvin Beachum Jersey , and wide receivers rarely gave Darnold a target. And, even the normally sure-handed Jermaine Kearse had a few drops and capped a bad day by forgetting where he was on the field before catching a pass late in the game while standing out of bounds."I'm very concerned because we didn't score a bunch of points the last three weeks," Bowles said. "We've got to find a way to execute better and get it right."Darnold's OK with pointing the finger at himself. But it has raised the thought he might be best served sitting for a week just to clear his head while 39-year-old backup Josh McCown takes the field.A quarterback change, however, doesn't appear to be in the plans."Not at this time," Bowles said, "no."Darnold, the No. 3 overall draft pick, leads the NFL with 14 interceptions and has struggled during the last three games. He said "I thought I played bad" on Sunday and added he thought the offensive line "blocked their butts off."Still, the Jets scored six points and have 33 in their last three games combined."I've just got to play smarter, play better," he said. "Yeah, I definitely feel like I forced some things (Sunday), but at the same time, I feel like there were some throws where I was second-guessing myself and I could've pulled the trigger."The last thing the Jets want is for their still-developing franchise QB is to become increasingly gun-shy."I think it's just me at some moments in the game getting in my own head," Darnold said. "I've just got to stay true to my progressions, stay true to the confidence that I normally have, and just go out there and sling it."The defense was mostly solid, allowing just 168 total yards, the second fewest under Bowles. That included 104 yards passing, the lowest under Bowles.Yet, the Jets still came up short in a game they all acknowledged they should have won."I think the biggest consensus overall, for the players and for the coaches and as an organization, we all know that sticking together is what's going to help us continue the season," Williams said. "If we start dividing now, if coaches start dividing from players and players from players and coaches from coaches — any type of division in this organization — is only going to hinder us."

Jets 2018 Roster Countdown: Number 56 Kevin Pierre-Louis Kevin Pierre-Louis now steps into our Jets roster countdown.Name: Kevin Pierre-LouisNumber: 56Year with Jets: 1stProjected Role: Backup inside linebackerHis 2017: Pierre-Louis was traded from Seattle to Kansas City during the offseason. He posted a career high 41 tackles while getting regular playing time as a reserve with the Chiefs linebacking corps. He was also a fixture on Kansas City’s special teams units.2018 will be a success if: Pierre-Louis gives the Jets quality play if Darron Lee or Avery Williamson ever needs out of the lineup. It also is possible we will see him as a situational player on passing downs if the Jets want to pull Williamson off the field.Odds of making the roster: Pierre-Louis will miss the first game of the year with a suspension Authentic Trumaine Johnson Jersey , but the Jets are investing pretty good money for a backup player. They seem to like Pierre-Louis so he is a Lock (>99%). Hey GGN! Hope everyone’s having a wonderful day. The NFL season for the Jets is officially over, and it’s time to reminisce, and be relieved that this season has mercifully come to an end. Today’s Black Monday in the NFL world, but the Jets got a head-start by firing Todd Bowles Sunday night after a horrendous showing against the Patriots in Foxboro yesterday. They allowed the fewest passing yards and the second-fewest total yards. The second-fewest points per game. The fewest first downs.Top-five in third down conversions. The second-most takeaways. The second-most sacks. The second-most interceptions. The most touchdowns.By nearly every metric Cheap Myles Jack Jersey , the Jaguars were at or near the top of the league. It was fun to watch and it bailed the team out several weeks. And I’m excited that the defense has gotten even better this season. No, really. Every position group on this team either got a stud draft pick (Taven Bryan along the defensive line), saw a young veteran step up and challenge for more playing time (Tyler Patmon at cornerback), has a mid-round rookie who is tailor made to fit into this scheme (Ronnie Harrison at safety), or saw a Day 3 guy completely surprise us to earn a starting spot (Leon Jacobs at linebacker). The best players will be fresher at the end of the season or down the stretch into the playoffs, the veterans are another year into their spot and will be even more comfortable and quick to react, and the rookies and young guys have Pro Bowlers and All-Pro players at every position to start off their NFL career right. The defense is what has me most excited about the Jaguars this year. What about you?

The Jacksonville Jaguars have benched Blake Bortles and Cody Kessler is now the starter — the 17th different quarterback to start a game under center for this team who has been in search of The Man since their inception. Steve Beuerlein was the first one to be given a shot Womens Marcell Dareus Jersey , Mark Brunell and David Garrard came close to the mark, and Blake Bortles showed flashes, but none of them were truly franchise quarterbacks in the sense that they were era defining players. They were fine and serviceable, bringing this team to the Super Bowl’s doorstep three times in 23 seasons Youth Dede Westbrook Jersey , but they never quite got over that hump.Kessler is likely not that guy. I don’t think anyone in Jacksonville has the expectation he’s that guy. That’s not what you expect out of a guy you traded a Day 3 pick for nine months ago. But with five games to go and a big question mark at quarterback this offseason, Kessler can play his way into a bridge role for next season. That’s a best case scenario. The worst case scenario is that he’s even worse than Bortles and we have to go back to Blake before the season ends.Personally, my hope and expectation is that Kessler can run this offense competently enough to give the Jaguars confidence to draft a quarterback in the first round. Through the preseason, he didn’t look to have too high a ceiling but he didn’t have too low a floor either — able to extend drives with third down throws Youth Blake Bortles Jersey , not turn the ball over, and lean on his offensive line and running game. And when he was thrown into a Week 7 matchup against the Houston Texans, he didn’t look that bad, completing 70 percent of his passes. He’s a dink-and-dunk guy Womens Donte Moncrief Jersey , getting just 5.2 yards per attempt and the pass protection failed him as he took four sacks, but the play calling dictated that whomever was under center would be throwing nearly every down. With a week of preparation, I expect Kessler to improve that yards per attempt number, to cut down on the sacks Youth Telvin Smith Jersey , and keep his completion percentage above 60 percent. I don’t necessarily expect a win this week — Andrew Luck throwing against a secondary that’s missing Jalen Ramsey will probably be tough to watch — but I do expect Kessler to read the field better and allow the offense to throw the ball when needed. As far as the rest of the season, I expect Kessler to keep the starting quarterback job into the offseason and (as I said) give the Jaguars reason enough to cut and run with Blake’s disastrous contract. He’ll be a fine enough backup that they won’t need to spend $21 million on one. What do you think? What are your expectations for Kessler over the final five games? Let us know in the comments below! Blake Bortles had three turnovers in the first half, including a pick-six, as the Chiefs are dominating the Jaguars 20-0.Kansas City appears on its way to keeping its record perfect Womens A. J. Cann Jersey , gaining 215 yards against the league’s No. 1 defense and with Bortles unable to get the Jaguars in the end zone against the league’s worst defense. The Jaguars have 183 yards, getting into Kansas City territory on four of six possessions. Jacksonville reached the Chiefs 3-yard line twice without scoring. They turned it over on downs once and Bortles threw an interception in the end zone as Steven Nelson made a diving pick of a pass intended for Donte Moncrief with 12 seconds remaining in the half.Chris Jones intercepted a Bortles screen pass intended for T.J. Yeldon and returned it 20 yards for a touchdown with 1:49 remaining in the first half.Bortles is 10-of-22 for 126 yards and the two interceptions. He also lost a fumble on a strip-sack by Dee Ford only a play after Patrick Mahomes threw his first interception of the season.Mahomes is 13-of-24 for 176 yards with the pick. He ran for a 4-yard score in the first quarter. Travis Kelce has four catches for 70 yards, and Sammy Watkins three for 51.

It wasn’t too long ago that the Denver Broncos and the Arizona Cardinals were battling it out in the final game of this year’s preseason Youth Darian Stewart Jersey , with the Broncos securing a 21-10 victory in late August. Fan bases of both franchises appeared to be relatively optimistic about their teams entering the regular season, but a lot has changed in two months and sometimes change isn’t for the better. Tomorrow evening on Thursday Night Football, the two struggling franchises will both be looking for victories in order to salvage their remainder of their respective seasons.Under the guidance of first-year head coach Steve Wilks, the Cardinals are off to an even worse start than the Broncos sporting a 1-5 record. Each team is desperate for a win, so it will be interesting to see who prevails. Von Miller has stated he is confident that the Broncos are going to kick the Cardinals’ asses, but we will just have to wait and see if that actually happens. Historically, the Broncos and Cardinals haven’t met often in the regular season (only 10 times since 1973) with the last time being in 2014. Overall, Denver holds a significant advantage in head-to-head competition with 8 wins, 1 loss and 1 tie. A quick glance at the Cardinals’ offenseIn the offseason the Cardinals signed free agent quarterback Sam Bradford to a one-year deal worth $20 million dollars. Bradford’s heist of reaping mega-millions despite never showcasing what made him a top pick out of the University of Oklahoma years ago continued. With that contract, he was was unquestionably expected to start, but it also signified he would only be a stop-gap for their franchise who like the Broncos, were in pursuit of a long-term solution at quarterback. Their search for the future didn’t take too long. In April, the Cardinals found their future signal caller in UCLA’s Josh Rosen who fell to the tenth pick of the 2018 NFL Draft, which prompted Arizona to move up five spots in order to secure him. Though Rosen wasn’t too happy to be the fourth quarterback taken in the draft behind Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold and Josh Allen and was quite vocal with his criticism of the other franchises who took a pass on him, the Cardinals and their fans were elated he endured a draft day slide. After losing their first three games and only scoring 20 points offensively, the Cardinals decided to end the short-lived Bradford era and opted to start Rosen in the fourth week of season against the Seattle Seahawks. In that time frame the Cardinals have only beaten one team (San Francisco 49ers), but have been much more competitive with Rosen at the helm. In three games as a starter, Rosen has completed 55.6 percent of his passes for 626 yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions — good enough for a 75.5 QBR. He has also taken 7 sacks in those three starts.Rookie receiver Christian Kirk has been a favorite target of Rosen’s and has reeled in 13 receptions for 190 yards since he has taken over. Long-time veteran and future Hall of Famer Larry Fitzgerald is the Cardinals’ second-ranked receiver from a production standpoint with 22 catches for 215 yards on the season. The Cardinals haven’t had a reliable third wide out, but have gotten quality production from tight end Ricky Seals-Jones who has 15 catches for 192 yards and a touchdown this season. Though he has scored five touchdowns in six games http://www.authenticsdenverbroncos.com/cheap-justin-simmons-jersey , the Cardinals would like to see better production from David Johnson, who has only 297 yards on 92 carries and is sporting a low 3.2 yard per carry average. But with the Broncos giving up 200 yard rushers the past two games, the team will likely look to establish the run in order to help out their rookie quarterback.Overall, the Cardinals have the worst offense in the NFL, averaging only 13.7 points a game, 220.5 yards (156.5 yards passing, 64 yards rushing) per contest. Broncos fans shouldn’t be surprised with that — considering Mike McCoy is the one who is calling their plays offensively — but who knows, maybe McCoy will do his best in a “revenge” game against Denver.A quick glance at the Cardinals’ defenseWhile the Cardinals’ offense is lackluster, its defense is somewhat respectable. Headlined by Chandler Jones, Patrick Peterson and Budda Baker, the defense is ranked 13th in the league in points given up per game and 24th in yardage allowed. Their passing defense is 12th best giving up just 243 yards per game. One of the reasons why they are successful against the pass is because of their pass rush. Their defense has the second most sacks in the National Football League with 18. Additionally, they have racked up 5 interceptions, as well as forced 9 fumbles and have scored two defensive touchdowns. On the flip side, their rushing defense is one of the league’s worst and their biggest weakness on that side of the ball. They are allowing over 151 yards per contest and have also given up 10 touchdowns on the season. Opposing running backs are averaging 4.4 yards per carry. So if the Broncos want to have success against Arizona the formula should be quite simple — run the ball. Two Keys to the GameThe Broncos need to run the ball and stop the runThis is quite obvious, but as mentioned above, the Cardinals run defense is horrendous. If the Broncos’ coaching staff hasn’t figured that out and developed an offensive game plan that features a heavy dose of Royce Freeman and Phillip Lindsay — I would be absolutely flabbergasted. Moreover, the Cardinals have struggled to get David Johnson going, but Denver’s defense has been atrocious against the run the past few weeks, though they are apparently working on that. If the Broncos can keep Johnson at the pace he has been at and limit his overall impact, it will force the game into Rosen’s hands. Though I was very high on him in this past draft, I’m not so sure the rookie is ready to devour the Broncos’ secondary quite yet.Keep the pass rush going and rattle RosenEven though the Broncos lost to the Los Angeles Rams http://www.authenticsdenverbroncos.com/cheap-connor-mcgovern-jersey , one of the bright spots was their pass rush which racked up a lot of sacks against Jared Goff. If Bradley Chubb, Von Miller and company can continue their efforts from last week that should benefit the Broncos greatly. The Cardinals have allowed 13 sacks on the season and have a relatively average offensive line, so I expect them to be able to extend last week’s performance on the road against Arizona.Hart’s PredictionAfter a brutal four-game losing streak, the Broncos’ season is on the verge of total collapse. While it’s unlikely that a win against the Cardinals will spark a multi-game winning streak that would change the overall course of the season, notching a win would help bring some confidence to the coaching staff and players. I’m predicting big games for Royce Freeman and Phillip Lindsay. I believe they will provide the necessary offensive spark to help the Broncos get out of their recent slump and the Broncos’ defense will be out on the prowl and rebound from their last two woeful performances.Broncos 30, Cardinals 17. The Denver Broncos have not gotten enough good plays from Case Keenum through the first four games. He ranks at the bottom of the league when throwing from inside the pocket, which is where most of a quarterbacks throws come from. However, when the Broncos are able to get Keenum outside the pocket to throw the ball, he ranks among the best in the NFL through four games. The sad part of these stats is that until Keenum can get the job done better from inside the pocket, the Broncos offense is going to continue to disappoint. The NFL continues to rebound Customized Denver Broncos Jerseys , when it comes to the generation of a sizable TV audience.Via SportsBusiness Daily, Monday night’s Chiefs-Broncos game on ESPN generated a 9.1 rating. It was the best Monday night number since Week Three of the 2017 season (Cowboys-Cardinals) and an eight-percent increase over last year’s 8.4 rating for a Week Four Monday night game between Washington and the Chiefs. The rating for Monday night’s game matches the 9.1 rating generated by the Week Four game in Week Four of the 2016 season. Which essentially gets the NFL back to where it was in the year that the ratings slide began to become noticeable. The Monday night measurement continues a 2018 trend (for the most part) of ratings going up. And that’s a good thing for the NFL and the networks www.authenticsdenverbroncos.com , especially at a time when the TV viewership continues to decline. Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas‘ name has come up among the list of players who could possibly be on the move ahead of next Tuesday’s trade deadline and Thomas admitted this week that he’s considered whether his time in Denver is coming to an end.Thomas may not have to call the movers just yet, however. Mike Klis of KUSA reports that it is a “good bet” that Thomas remains with the Broncos beyond October 30.Klis adds that the Broncos will listen if teams call about Thomas Denver Broncos T-Shirt , but that they are not “actively shopping” the wideout at the moment.Thomas has some $5 million left in salary this season and has another year on his contract at $14 million. The Broncos can get most of that money off their cap, which may make an offseason parting of the ways a likelier outcome in Denver.Klis also reports that the Broncos have fielded more calls on wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders and that they aren’t going to trade him.

So far this week I’ve taken a look at three draft classes for the Seattle Seahawks by looking at no more than the snap counts accumulated by the members of each of the draft classes. The classes I’ve covered so far includethe 2016 draft class led by Jarran Reed and Germain Ifedithe 2015 draft class which produced Tyler Lockett and Frank Clark Cheap Russell Wilson Jersey , the 2014 second round of Justin Britt and Paul Richardson. Which means that of course today we will be looking at the 2013 draft class. Now, while Hawks fans are more than well aware of the fact that the 2013 season was the most successful in team history for on field performance, the draft that year is easily one of the worst in franchise history. How bad was it? Let’s jump straight to the numbers.Seahawks 2013 draft class snap countsRoundPlayer SelectedSnaps PlayedPercentage of Draft Class SnapsRoundPlayer SelectedSnaps PlayedPercentage of Draft Class SnapsJust to put how little this entire draft class contributed on the field for the Hawks, here are some facts about this draft class relative to some of the team’s other classes. The 2013 group as a whole played fewer snaps (3,280) thanJustin Britt has played himself (4,557)fewer snaps than Tyler Lockett has in career punt and kick return yards (3,434)fewer snaps than the 2017 Seahawks draft class (3,489)In short, the 2013 draft class didn’t play much at all. Now, in yesterday’s installment about the 2014 draft class a question was asked about what constitutes average for a draft class across the NFL. While that is an entire can of worms that I’m not really looking to get into here http://www.seahawkscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-frank-clark-jersey , the rough back of the envelope calculation that will put you in the ballpark of how productive a draft class has been is to divide the number of snaps the group played by 800, and that gives you a very, very rough approximation of how many starting seasons the draft class has produced. The reason that gets you in the ballpark is that of the 22 starting positions in the NFL, barring injury half of those starters should play 100% of snaps for their team - the quarterback, the five offensive linemen, the four defensive backs and one or maybe two of the team’s linebackers. That’s about 1,000 snaps per season for each of those 11 positions. Then there is a group of seven positions that will play around three quarters of a team’s snaps. Those include the halfback, the tight end, the defensive ends and typically the second linebacker. Three quarters of 1,000 is obviously 750 Cheap Will Dissly Jersey , and that’s about how many snaps these positions should be expected to play in a season. And then there are the more rotational positions, including the third wide receiver, the third linebacker, and the defensive tackles. The players should play somewhere in the ballpark of half of the snaps a team plays, so about 500 snaps per player. That leads to the 22 starters for a team averaging just over 800 snaps per starter, so by dividing the snaps plays for a draft class by 800, it yields a very rough approximation of how many seasons of on field play a draft class accounted for. Now, is it precise? Not at all. This is a machete, not a scalpel, but it puts the numbers into an easy to easy to understand single number.Century Links 8/20: Who Impressed Cheap Earl Thomas III Jersey , Who Didn’t After Chargers Preseason Game Seahawks Stock Report: Risers And Fallers In Preseason Loss To ChargersWhich players helped their cause in a losing effort? Swerving Points Womens Customized Seattle Seahawks Jerseys , Week 4: Three plays from Seahawks-Cardinals with potential season-long repercussions As always, the Swerving Points column does not concern itself with the tier-one highlights of the game completed. Usually it finds the plays that shaped the game on a secondary level, because they’re important too, and it’s nice to remember that a football game is more than just the scoring plays or interceptions.Today I’ll bring up three developments and decisions from Glendale that figure to shape the rest of the Seattle Seahawks’ 2018 season. None of them are Earl Thomas’ injury. There has been much e-ink (eenk?) spilt all over this site and others about that crappy turn of events.Fine, before we dive in, you can have one Sportscentery highlight, one actual turning point. It’s Mike Davis’ second touchdown. Since we’ll be seeing more of him, again, than a lot of us figured. Partially because he is good. Now, we swerve.Interior pass rush shows up, by Jarran Reed and Poona FordSamuel Gold hooks us up again. If you’re on Twitter, you probably want to follow him.The sack is Reed’s third of the year. Needless to say, but gonna be said anyways, if an interior lineman were to produce a 12-sack season, that would be news, and would surely earn Reed some accolades and honors. The fact that it comes on the Cardinals’ first drive is a bonus because it forces adjustments. On a third down www.seahawkscheapshops.com , too. But what’s equally important here is that Reed got help.“Poona Ford got a good Pro Football Focus grade. So what?”I hear your skepticism. In fact it’s quite rare for me to cite PFF grades at all, because their opaque process is questionable at best. But he was in for 17 plays and made a positive impression. It’s one thing for PFF to give Aaron Rodgers a negative grade on a 333-5-0 day. A false positive seems much less likely. If Ford was disruptive, it would be reflected in a good grade. If he was absent or a non-factor, not very likely. Anyway, the Seahawks are a team that desperately needs interior pass rush because the defensive ends are beat up. Ford trucking people would have a (C)heavy impact, allowing Seattle to maybe Dodge a loss or two.The Will Dissly sadnessSlightly overshadowed by the game’s other significant injury (and controversial hand gesture) was Dissly’s injury. He played all of eight healthy snaps, and on the ninth one the ghost of Jimmy Graham stole Dissly’s patella tendon, wrecking his 2018 and maybe even sending his 2019 season into doubt. The stadium that has often been called Seattle’s home away from home for excellent reasons, such as this 2013 post-game scene — — has turned into a real-life haunted house, where Seahawk seasons and careers end. Among other unfortunate events.Dissly has been a revelation. In a Brian Schottenheimer offense, the tight end is heavily featured. Now it’s up to Nick Vannett to take up the much-targeted mantle of TE 1 until Ed Dickson returns, though return is the wrong word since he’s never played a snap for Seattle.Through three games, Dissly had served as Russell Wilson’s most productive target besides Tyler Lockett, ranking second in yards and TDs with 151 and two scores. He’d also won the starting job and validated the Seahawks’ decision to use a fourth-round pick on a supposed blocking tight end.Without him, it’s not clear what production the team will get out of its TE room. It’s not even clear who the room will feature a week or two from now. For as inconvenient as Doug Baldwin’s injury and Brandon Marshall’s numerous drops have been for the offense, losing Dissly might be the biggest setback of the year so far. Which would’ve been a silly sentence to write a month ago Seattle Seahawks T-Shirt , but NFL seasons have a way of doing their own thing. The decision to play for threeSchottenheimer and Pete Carroll teamed up with Wilson to get Seattle within striking range for a long game-winning field goal — and it worked! It also didn’t work against Atlanta or Arizona last year. It’s bad process, to play for three. The longer the kick, the worse the process. It’s baffling to me how the Seahawks coaches can watch a cautious strategy fail for them twice last year, then once for their opponent in this same game, and decide to put their eggs in the kicker’s basket at the expense of their playmakers. The trend is worrisome. Carroll didn’t wake up on Sunday and decide to play it safe at the end of the game. It’s his reflex now, after seeing it in action thrice in his last 13 games. These paragraphs aren’t about how Sebastian Janikowski redeemed himself with a buzzer-beater after missing twice earlier in the afternoon. It’s really cool that he doesn’t have to be the goat. It’s really cool that he made the kick, because a) that was the first winning kick as time expired in the Russell Wilson era, and b) winning is fun. We’re talking here about how Carroll didn’t trust his best players to take the chances that would have led to a better shot at winning. Seabass made it, but it’s such bad process,What’s even worse is that not five minutes earlier, he’d just seen the Cardinals employ the same strategy and fail miserably, costing Arizona a chance to win. With a first down at the Seattle 31 and 2:59 to play with, the Cardinals called three David Johnson runs and set up for a go-ahead 45-yarder. Phil Dawson pushed it wide right.I understand that Janikowski was acquired specifically for situations where a long kick makes sense. Big leg, blah blah blah. But when you have 2nd and 1, at the opponent’s 43-yard line, with 1:06 left Seattle Seahawks Hats , you need to do better than:3-yard run up the middle6-yard pass in bounds0-yard run up the middlespikekickThe two Seahawks runs combined to remove 0.52 expected points off Seattle’s drive. They also were a clear signal that no shots would be taken at the end zone, or at the sidelines to increase the kick’s percentage.Again, it is good that the field goal was successful. I’m just afraid the positive result will prompt Carroll to trust a negative process even more. And it doesn’t appear too likely that a couple well-timed field goals will get the job done against the Los Angeles Rams this coming Sunday. The Seahawks and Lions kickoff early, 10 AM on Sunday for Week 8’s key NFC showdown. The odds say no game has more playoff implications than this one as both teams stand at 3-3 and are looking to stay over the hump. To find out more about Detroit, I sent five Qs over to Chris Perfett from Pride of Detroit and he sent me five corresponding As. Here they are:Q: Kenny Golladay has become one of my favorite players in the NFL and maybe it’s just me, but it seems like he came into the league under the radar last year as a third round pick. Was he one of these players who was obviously special once his first training camp hit, or were Lions fans surprised by his breakout also? What are his strengths and weaknesses?A: Lions fans saw it early last year, but his injury put a kibosh on any breakout talk on a larger scale. When you come out of the preseason hot then suddenly vanish, it’s easy to write it all off as the bluster that time of year produces and just move on. Lions fans always had an idea of what Golladay could be when he came back, although my own was tempered by time and the usual reservations I hold when dealing with this team or any fan expectations. What Golladay does is all-around pretty great. He’s got speed and size, so he fits neatly into this three-headed monster with Golden Tate and Marvin Jones. He’s also capable of being physical and putting out a few blocks now and then. I’m being reductive here, but if I had to point to one use of each of the Lions WRs, I’d say that Jones is a vertical threat, Tate is on that YAC, Golladay works over a defender. The most distressing part about Kenny Golladay? Nobody seems to be able to get this kid a proper nickname. It’s really a lost art in today’s modern sports landscape. Kenny G is for people who are extremely lame, Babytron is infantile and ridiculous Seattle Seahawks Hoodie , and nobody wants to use another Transformers nickname because of Calvin Johnson for whatever reason. Everyone else is trying to take “Golladay” and run with it as a pun. This is all ridiculous. Absolutely foolish. Sports culture must be reformed.Q: The Seahawks would like to protect Russell Wilson, but it seems Detroit has gotten significant pressure with three new players: Devon Kennard, Romeo Okwara, and Eli Harold. What can you tell me about these three players and defensive coordinator Paul Pasqualoni’s ability to create pressure?A: Well Paul’s on the sideline with a clipboard, he’s not creating any pressure himself so we’ll leave him out of this for the time being. Okwara was a surprise pickup right before the season began, Kennard is a proud Man of Troy and a very good lad (Fight on baby). Harold has been out for a while now with his new kid, and I’ll add that Ricky Jean Francois has shown up fairly well to boot. It’s a surprise to be sure, given how awful the pass rush was last year, but I think it’s a matter that the players have gotten acclimated to this new defensive scheme and the front office got the talent they needed to get this scheme to work. It relies on a lot of pressure from linebackers, but given the poor showing of the backfield this year so far it’s been a pleasant treat.Q: Inside linebacker Jarrad Davis is listed as questionable with a calf injury. How good has the former first round pick become and if he were to sit out, how big of a downgrade would the Lions be turning to?A: Jarrad Davis didn’t have a good rookie season, but he’s played well in the past few games. He’s proven that he can be versatile and flexible, and as he grows I think we can start to chalk up his rookie season woes to adjusting to the NFL game and just generally rookie things. My guy Mansur Shaheen did some film breakdown on Jarrad Davis’ game against Miami that might prove useful to this question. I’m not one to look at a lot of film, since I believe the devil lives there. Anyway, Davis has been back at practice and I expect him to play on Sunday. His absence would test linebacker depth, which ain’t that great.Q: Detroit is 32nd in yards per carry allowed and teams have passed on the Lions fewer times than any other team in the league has been passed upon. To answer Cheap Customized Seattle Seahawks Jerseys , the Lions traded for Damon Harrison this week. Do you think that move will have significant implications and just how bad was it to watch the run defense week after week? Was it horrible or are the problems with the run defense a little overrated? Is the pass defense really good enough to make it up?A: These are a lot of questions and I am a simple man. I’ll just say that he’s got a cool nickname, we’ve got a new T-shirt for him if you’re interested. Anyway the issue here is that I generally despise watching the Giants play football so I have nothing to really say on this matter. We do have another article to link here, a roundtable on the matter. I’ll just say this: I’m shocked the Lions made a trade. Everything is different, everything has changed. For years you’re told that nothing happens at the trade deadline, then a year comes along like this and everyone loses their minds. I’m excited. You should be excited. The anticipation. As for the run defense itself, it was pretty bad. Even with a big burly large adult son like A’Shawn Robinson the new scheme has yet to adjust to stopping the run. The issue is when the Lions have lost, they’ve lost not just on these runs, but on a handful of other mistakes an anemic offensive starts. They can survive being bad at stopping the run in theory, but not when it’s combined with an inability to keep pace on offense. I don’t know about 32nd, because as we’ve established I don’t have eyes on every team. That would be cool to have those eyes though.Q: Have you heard of Michael Dickson?A: Is this is a phallic joke? One second let me google this. Okay next question, is he related to Texas’ Cameron Dicker, because these jokes aren’t going away are they.

How are former Jets faring with their new teams? Note from John: If you are a Jets fan http://www.jetsfootballauthentics.com/doug-middleton-jersey-authentic , there is probably a good chance you are familiar with the great Bent who has been a fixture on The Jets Blog for years and more recently started his own site, Jets Fix. It is with great pleasure that I tell you Bent is GGN’s newest contributor. His first article here is posted below........................................What’s done cannot be undone. However, there’s value in keeping close tabs on players once they’ve left the team. In fact, the most recent addition to the current roster - offensive lineman Alex Balducci - was released by the Jets last September, since which time he’s had a year on Washington’s practice squad and several months on their 90-man roster via a futures deal. This isn’t unique; many other players such as Braylon Edwards and Demario Davis have left the Jets and then returned to the team later on over the last several years. There’s also intrigue in terms of whether they might let someone with potential loose, only for them to flourish elsewhere. Defensive linemen Kerry Hyder, Jacquies Smith and Shelby Harris are good examples of this. Over the past three seasons, each of those has had at least one season with 5.5 sacks or more - a total that would have led the Jets in 2017.On the other end of the scale, while we may wish players like Davis or Austin Seferian-Jenkins well on their way out of the door, there’s a lingering hope that they won’t do so well that we’re left regretting their departure. Finally, there may be cases where we are rooting for the player to fail, especially if they’ve joined a rival. We’re going to be keeping track of anyone who has been on the Jets’ roster or practice squad since cutdown day last season so we can start to assess whether letting any of these players go was a mistake or a well-timed move. With the first round of preseason games in the books, let’s recap how each player that meets the above criteria fared in the first week, starting with the highest profile players and working our way down the list:Muhammad Wilkerson - DL, PackersWilkerson did not play in the Packers’ first preseason game. He is reportedly dealing with a minor groin injury but reports about his camp performance so far have mostly been positive and he returned to practice on Sunday.Demario Davis - LB, SaintsDavis started and saw some significant playing time in the Saints’ first preseason game. He made two tackles, including one run stop, and was credited with a pass defensed. It was reported that he wasn’t a lock to start, but that seems to be based on some standard training camp mixing-and-matching leading others to get first team reps.Austin Seferian-Jenkins - TE, JaguarsSeferian-Jenkins started and was in the game for a few series but didn’t make any impact as he wasn’t targeted. Based on reports out of Jacksonville, he seems to be having a decent camp.Chandler Catanzaro - PK, BucsCatanzaro had a late game-winner for the Bucs, but it wasn’t a great first game for him as he missed an extra point and a field goal. If he doesn’t win the job http://www.jetsfootballauthentics.com/jamal-adams-jersey-authentic , could he be an option for the Jets with Cairo Santos struggling to get on the practice field?Bryce Petty - QB, DolphinsPetty didn’t do too badly, completing four of seven passes for 53 yards and a touchdown and also completing a pass for a two-point conversion which looked like it might be the winning score until Catanzaro’s late kick. However, he also had one interception and his roster chances don’t look too great as he was the fourth quarterback into the game.Jeremy Kerley - WR, BillsKerley has a shot at making a Bills roster that lacks depth at wide receiver despite the recent Corey Coleman trade. In the first preseason game, Kerley caught a 16-yard pass and fielded one punt. Most Bills writers seem to believe he’ll be the team’s primary slot receiver in 2018.Wesley Johnson - OL, LionsJohnson got off to a good start with the Lions as he was playing left guard with the second unit and sprung a 13-yard run with a good second level block. He got beaten for a hit and a couple of pressures later on though. His roster chances improved with an injury to Graham Glasgow in practice on Tuesday.Kony Ealy - DE, CowboysEaly got some playing time in the first preseason game, but failed to generate any statistics or record any pressure in a few series of work. Ealy has been so underwhelming off the edge in camp so far that the Cowboys are experimenting with him at defensive tackle instead.Julian Stanford - LB, BillsStanford was in on one tackle and had a quarterback hit, but he was penalized twice for illegal contact and an illegal hit and also gave up two 20-yard pass plays. Stanford is in the mix for a roster spot and helped his cause with an interception in practice earlier this week.Freddie Bishop - OLB, LionsBishop had a productive first game as he registered five tackles including a couple of run stops and had a couple of pressures off the bench. However, he lost contain on one outside run. He seems to be having a good camp, based on reports.Damore’ea Stringfellow - WR, SeahawksStringfellow has apparently been impressive in camp with Seattle, but he only had one catch for 15 yards in their first preseason game.Jojo Natson - WR, RamsNatson caught two short passes for 14 yards and showed some flashes in the return game, including a 29 yard punt return. He ended up averaging 14 yards per on four returns and 23 yards on seven kickoffs.Korren Kirven - OL, CowboysKirven saw some late game action but didn’t impress much as he had a false start and was beaten a couple of times in pass protection. He seems like a long shot.Bucky Hodges - TE, SteelersHodges hasn’t been in Pittsburgh very long and didn’t get much playing time on offense in his first preseason game with them. He wasn’t targeted. The Steelers are banged up at tight end but he still only has an outside shot at making their roster.Jeremy Langford - RB, MiamiLangford only just joined Miami last week and didn’t see any action in their first preseason game.Edmond Robinson - LB, ArizonaRobinson had two tackles on defense, one on a short pass and one on a run stuff. He also added a special teams tackle in punt coverage. He’s missed some practice time this week Youth James Carpenter Jersey , though.Geoff Gray - OL, BrownsGray only played late in the fourth quarter, seeing action at right guard. He gave up one pressure and allowed his man to stuff a run.Akeem Judd - RB, PackersJudd only recently joined the Packers, but got some work in last week’s game, busting an 11-yard run on his best play. His other five carries generated just eight yards though.Jeremy Cash - S, CardinalsCash’s first preseason performance began well, but ended badly. He scored a touchdown on a 12-yard fumble return and was credited with two tackles on a run stuff and a third down stop on a Geno Smith scramble. He was also in on a special teams tackle. Unfortunately, he was carted off with a season-ending knee injury late in the third quarter and has since been waived/injured.Michael Hunter - CB, BroncosHunter saw action in the second half of Denver’s preseason opener and was credited with two tackles, both on running plays, but was called for pass interference on a deep throw to rookie Jeff Badet. He’s on the bubble, according to local media.Travaris Cadet - RB, BillsIt’s good to see Cadet back on the field after some injury issues, but he didn’t make much of an impact in the Bills’ first game as he rushed for four yards on two carries and caught a two-yard pass. Cadet was considered in the driving seat for the number three running back role, but that spot is not secure yet.Anthony Johnson - DL, ColtsJohnson came off the bench in the Colts’ first preseason game and recorded two tackles including a tackle in the backfield as he rallied to the ball on a short pass. He’s missed time this week with a back injury. Will Tye - NE, PatriotsTye is still with New England having been picked up by them last year. He had two catches for six yards in their first preseason game. Tye has had some issues with dropping passes in practice and is therefore considered a long-shot.Marcus Murphy - RB, BillsMurphy had a good day in the Bills first preseason game, doing most of his damage in the first half. He rushed for 35 yards and a touchdown on seven carries and added 30 yards on four receptions, including a 15-yarder. He also returned one punt five yards. He’s gunning for Cadet’s spot as the number three running back.Kalif Raymond - WR, GiantsRaymond didn’t record a catch, although he tied for the team-lead in total snaps was unsuccessfully targeted twice. He also returned a couple of punts and a kickoff but without much success.Jason Vander Laan - TE Womens Brandon Shell Jersey , PanthersVander Laan looked sharp on a 22-yard catch down the seam and did a decent job as a blocker off the bench. He’s in the mix to be the Panthers’ third tight end.MiscellaneousDL Claude Pelon signed with Tennessee but then tore his ACL a few days later;TE Zach Conque signed with Jacksonville but was released in June;DT Lord Hyeamang was signed by Seattle after his release by the Jets, but they released him earlier this month. He was just signed by the Rams on Sunday;New Orleans signed cornerbacks Robert Nelson and Marcus Williams on Sunday; andQB Christian Hackenberg, already released by the Raiders, was signed by the Eagles on Sunday.Of course there are still several recent departures who aren’t currently with a team, such as Bruce Carter, Courtney Upshaw and Jalin Marshall. We’ll add these to the list if they get a deal.New York Jets Coverage Stats - Preseason Week 1 Throughout the offseason, I went back and charted the Jets’ individual stats in coverage over each week of 2017 (the final numbers can be seen here). Pass coverage is one of the many phases of the game in which statistics are not readily available to aid in analysis. Of course, stats have never and will never tell the entire story. However, they always do a tremendous job of telling a huge part of it and are just another tool that can be used to help evaluate properly without bias or going simply off of blurry memories. So, I’m bringing the coverage series back as a weekly feature throughout the year! Let’s get things going with the Jets’ coverage numbers in preseason Week 1!RULESThe coverage numbers include only legitimate targets into the general area of a receiver/defender; throws in which a defender in coverage were directly involved in the outcome. Throwaways and deflections at the line are excluded. The stats for each individual are that of the quarterback’s passing numbers when targeting the individual’s matchup. A player could have an interception to his coverage credit even if the interception itself was made by a teammate. For example, if Trumaine Johnson tips a pass targeted in his direction and Morris Claiborne comes up with the interception, I would credit Johnson in my charting.I did not apply the same rule to fumbles; I will only count those if forced by the covering defender.“Miscues” (M) are included in charting to attempt to knock defenders who benefitted from an egregious error by the offense (drop, horrible throw).I charted penalties in the offseason series but will not be charting penalties for preseason since the game is being called a bit differently right now to set the tone for some new rules. Will likely bring them back as a category for the regular season.During the regular season I will return to charting the numbers in coverage against each individual opponent, but for the preseason I simply broke it down by position due to the enormous amount of players taking the field on the other side. I’ve also split slot receivers and outside receivers into separate positions. Here are the Jets’ numbers in coverage against the Atlanta Falcons on Friday night. A glossary is available at the bottom of the chart. Some notes from me:Derrick Jones lived up to the hype. He was sound in off-coverage, making well timed breaks on the ball and sticking with his matchups. His most impressive play was on a 4th & 2 goal line fade in which his physical coverage disallowed his matchup to make a play in the back corner of the end zone. The Falcons were 0-for-4 targeting him, though he benefited from one catchable drop.J.J. Wilcox laid some hard hits but struggled in coverage allowing three 10+ yard gains.Kevin Minter made a pair of good plays on the ball.Rashard Robinson was solid, broke and finished on a pair of plays short of the sticks. Not coverage-related, but two interior linemen stood out to me against the pass: Mike Pennel and Foley Fatukasi. Pennel was one the most efficient run-stuffers in the league last season, but flashed with a sack and huge hit rushing up the middle. Fatukasi did as well with a late game strip-sack and a pressure up the middle wiped out by a facemask grab. The Jets played mostly off-coverage in this game, dissimilar from the press that Bowles is likely to employ a lot during the regular season. It was an impressive display on defense, but there was no doubt that the Falcons were struggling big-time offensively with communication and poor QB play. What did you take away from the Jets in coverage?

The Jacksonville Jaguars offense has been a mess for weeks and the belief was that a lot of that stemmed from their injuries at running back and not being able to run the football. The offense had been going through quarterback Blake Bortles Womens Andrew Norwell Jersey , who often struggles when he’s the one expected to carry the offense, but an odd statement by Doug Marrone after he was questioned about the offense calling just nine run plays in Sunday’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in London may point to bigger issues.“You have to have the confidence with the guys up front being able to do it,” coach Doug Marrone said. “We just felt, at times, that we thought it was our best chance to make a play.”What?I want to make sure I am understanding what Marrone is saying here. The Jaguars do not have enough confidence in their offensive line to commit to running the football, so much so that passing the ball 35 plus time per game is the better alternative.Sure, the Jaguars left tackle position has been decimated, but you still have a high priced left guard starting. You still have the highest paid (still?) center in the NFL starting. You still have third-round draft pick who you decided to not challenge starting at right guard and you have another highly paid starter at right tackle. You don’t have confidence in those guys that you can’t even try to run the football? What? It’s not like the Jaguars were particularly good running the football in 2017, regardless of being the No. 1 ranked rushing offense, they still basically just got three yards and a cloud of dust on most attempts.T.J. Yeldon is averaging over four yards per carry on the season and has been effective when given the ball, though he has also been playing injured, and you just traded a fifth-round pick for Carlos Hyde so you could get back to playing power running football and you run it... nine times because you have no confidence inyour offensive line to run block? What? The fantasy life: Eagles vs. Falcons start and sit This evening the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons christen the 2018 NFL season, giving a multitude of fans 17 weeks of hope for a championship team. Beyond the Lombardi Trophy are championships to be won at the fantasy level. This season, with the assistance of fantasy football expert Matt Phillips, I will be offering up options to start and sit. This article will focus specifically on tonight’s players, with recommendations for Sunday and Monday games to be posted on Saturday. This is an important context, especially in looking at the quarterback position. For example, Matt Ryan and Nick Foles are projected to have similar numbers, but the evaluation to start and sit is based on which of the two from tonight’s game would be a better staring option. For running backs and wide receivers, you may decide to forego the recommendations all together based on your roster options.Matt is a multiple fantasy football champion Authentic Myles Jack Jersey , and co-host of the podcast Pigskin Dynasty: Your Podcast for All Things Fantasy Football. You can find him on iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, Podbean, and other podcast mediums. He also has live episodes on Facebook every Sunday morning at 9:00 am EST.StartTE Zach Ertz, Philadelphia EaglesFun fact — Zach Ertz has over 70 catches the last three seasons. That is more receptions than Rob Gronkowski. The only knock on Ertz is that he does not get enough yards and touchdowns. I believe that changes this year. He scored eight touchdowns last year and I believe he is a shoe in to match his total from last year. While Carson Wentz is still nursing his ACL injury from last season, therefore leaving to Nick Foles as the starter for possiblythe next three weeks, Foles targeted Ertz over 40 times during the 2017 regular season. For the Super Bowl the two combined for seven catches, over 100 yards, and a touchdown. I believe he matches that stat line in a game in which I expect to be a high-scoring affair. With Alshon Jeffery still nursing an injury, and probably missing the next three weeks, this could open up more red zone targets for Ertz. I believe Ertz can easily fight for tight end one and I give him a projected stat line of 8-105-1.RB Tevin Coleman, Atlanta Falcons I do not put Devante Freeman‘s name here because he was most likely drafted in the second, possibly third round, rendering him a must start in virtually all leagues. It surprises me that people forget about Coleman.I believe he has a better fantasy season then Devante Freeman. Revisiting the NFC divisional playoff game last year, Coleman carved up the Eagles defense for 79 rushing yards on just 10 carries. Additionally, he poses more of a threat through air than does Freeman. Multiple reports from Falcons camp suggest that 2018 will find being targeted more in the passing game, making him more valuable in PPR formats. I do believe Freeman and Coleman both have great games, and I do believe both of them get touchdowns, That said Authentic Dede Westbrook Jersey , on the aspects of PPR and his ability to get more catches I believe Coleman has a better game. My projected stat line is 90 total yards with five catches a touchdown. WR Julio Jones, Atlanta FalconsI know what you’re saying, like there was any debate in starting Julio Jones. He is a stud and the unwritten rule of fantasy football is that you always start your studs. For anyone who had Amari Cooper, stud receiver fear is real. Here are some stats that will make you feel little more confident in starting Julio Jones. In the NFC divisional game last year, the Falcons seemed to force feed Jones. He got an unprecedented 16 targets. It seems one consistent thing that I hear from people who are hesitant to start Julio, particularly in daily fantasy, is how good the Eagles defense was last year. This is partially true. The Eagles defense was but they were very, very bad against opposing wide receivers. They ranked eighth last year in giving up fantasy points per game against wide receivers. I downgraded Julio Jones on my preseason wide receiver rankings on the basis of his touchdown production in which he only scored three last year, but I believe he breaks that this year by starting hot and getting a touchdown in this game. My projected stat line for Julio Jones is 7-135-1QB Nick Foles, Philadelphia EaglesI am not worried about his poor performance this preseason. Nick Foles seems to know this Eagles offense. He is the same quarterback that won the Super Bowl MVP just seven months ago. Here is why I’m starting Nick Foles: I believe if the Eagles win this game it is via the air. I’m not a big fan of their running back situation as I will explain later in my sit section. I see Foles throwing the ball for the Eagles to keep up with the Falcons offense. In last year’s playoff game against Atlanta, Foles went 23-for-30 for 246 yards. While not throwing a touchdown in that low scoring game (the score was 15-10) I believe he has a much better game tonight. He is a valuable stream option in daily fantasy and I project him to have 265 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.K Matt Bryant, Atlanta FalconsThe kicker position you can always stream, and I believe Matt Bryant is a great streamer. He’s over 40 and has proven time and time again that he still has it. To measure the Fantasy relevance of a kicker you have to base it on the team he kicks for. The Falcons offense moves the ball quite well. However, I do believe the Eagles bend but don’t break which will leave many kicking chances for Bryant. I believe is good for a minimum of two field goals. If you are in a league that scores based on field goal distance, it is worth noting of Bryant’s 34 regular season field goals made, half of those were from 40 yards or more, with a long of 57.SitQB Matt Ryan, Atlanta FalconsMarty Ice: I love that nickname. But for this week Womens Donte Moncrief Jersey , a great name does not mean he is a great start. I believe he is getting drafted too high, and there are much better options especially for week one. For example, Andy Dalton against the 32 ranked pass defense of the Indianapolis Colt. I do believe Matt Ryan will have a better fantasy season than last year due to the fact that he has another year under the belt with a new offensive coordinator, but the Eagles passing defense is not a good matchup. In 2017, Philadelphia’s defense gave up the tenth fewest points per game against opposing quarterbacks. I believe Matt will get pressured by that impressive Eagles defensive line, giving him a stat line of 235 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. All Eagles Running Backs I despise running back by committee‘s — or RBBC. Every time I see one it makes me cringe. As a fantasy lover, I have nightmares when a team employs this tactic. The Eagles running back situation is one of them. They have so many mouths to feed, it is difficult to predict which is going to be a reliable fantasy option. Jay Ajayi is projected to start, but does he get the volume to render him a starting running back in fantasy leagues? I don’t think so. Ajayi has shown flashes of fantasy relevance in the past, but with his deteriorating bone on bone knee are you taking the risk in drafting him and starting him? Can he take the volume? I don’t think he can, and I believe there are better fantasy options at your disposal. Behind Ajayi are Darren Sproles, Corey Clement, and Wendell Smallwood. All running backs mentioned had pretty decent spurts last year. I project Ajayi will get between 12 to 15 touches, but with the pass catching backs behind him I feel if this game gets high scoring. If this happens, expect him to get pushed off the field for a Sproles or Clement. I project for Ajayi to get 13 touches for 55 yards. Sproles, to me, is the more appealing flex starter especially for daily fantasy, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he finds the end zone.WR Mohamed Sanu Youth Ronnie Harrison Jersey , Atlanta Falcons Sunu, as a fantasy player, falls under the category of touchdown or bust. I particularly do not like to take risk which is why Sanu is a sit for me. Like I mentioned in my start section, Julio Jones was targeted 16 times last year during the playoff game against the Eagles. To put that into perspective, an average quarterback will roughly throw the ball 30 times a game. That means half of the throws went to Julio. I do not think the opportunities will be there for Sanu, and that’s why I am pumping the brakes on him. The value of a fantasy player can be determined on his usage, therefore I the usage is not going to be there in this game. I see a lot of throws to Julio and the running backs. I project Sanu with 4-43 stat line. TE Austin Hooper, Atlanta FalconsAustin Hooper has shown flashes of tight end one potential in his football career. But I believe he posts a dud tonight. As mentioned, when talking about Sanu, I do not believe the targets are there for you to start him. He is a touchdown or bust type of player.I believe there a better alternative to the position for example, Austin Stefani-Jenkins for the Jacksonville Jaguars, or even the Washington Redskins Jordan Reed who is consistently falling down into the later round of most drafts due to his durability. One thing to note, Ryan seemed to look for Hooper more when in the red zone. This could mean Hooper steals a touchdown for the stat sheet. Nevertheless, the recommendation is to stay away from this Falcons tight end. My projected stat line for Austin Hooper is 5-42.Both DefensesLike kickers, defenses can be streamed. That even includes the top defenses of the Los Angeles Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars. In the last 10 years there has never been back-to-back fantasy stud defenses. I often suggest that fantasy participants never reach for a defense early in drafts, favoring to draft them in the last round. I believe both the Falcons and Eagles defenses are a must sit because this game projects to be high scoring, and I do not see either defense forcing turnovers. A better option for week one is the Baltimore Ravens going up against the Buffalo Bills who are starting quarterback Nathan Peterman. If you recall, Peterman threw for five interceptions the last time he started. Hold off on starting either of these Thursday night defenses, and check your waiver wire for better fantasy options.

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive lineman Malik Jackson was flagged for a 15-yard penalty — “lowering the helmet” to initiate contact — for his hit on Tennessee Titans quarterback Blaine Gabbert. Gabbert was immediately taken to the locker room and evaluated for a concussion. At the time Cheap Logan Cooke Jersey , the score was 0-0 and even though it was just the second possession for the Titans you knew the game was going to be one of those “first to seven points wins” afternoons. Gabbert immediately fumbled after a hit by Calais Campbell, the ball was recovered by Dante Fowler, and momentum was swinging in the Jaguars’ favor. But the penalty not only negated a sack and a fumble recovery, but gave the Titans the ball in field goal range. They went on to get nine more yards and kick their first of three field goals of the game on the way to a 9-6 win. Here’s the thing though — although the call was technically correct, it’s an awful rule that is going to turn the tide in a lot of contests.According to the 2018 NFL Rulebook, the rule is as follows:Malik, for his part, acknowledged the rule was called correctly but that it’s nearly impossible to get around at game speed, saying that “the NFL expects us to be acrobats” and that he expected Gabbert to continue running away from him http://www.jaguarscheapstore.com/barry-church-jersey-cheap , which he might have done had Campbell not been in his way.But while the call was correct, Gabbert too lowered his helmet. It wasn’t to initiate contact but he was still guilty of “lowering the head and initiating contact to an opponent’s torso, hips, [or] lower body” as the rule spells out.In all, it’s a dumb rule that is almost impossible to prevent and Malik has every right to be frustrated. Did it cost the Jaguars the game? I won’t go that far — but it did cost this team a chance to swing momentum its way early. Tashaun Gipson remembers his first game against Tom Brady five years ago as vividly as his last one eight months ago. They had similar endings.Brady threw two touchdown passes in the final 61 seconds to stun Gipson and the Cleveland Browns in 2013. The three-time league MVP tossed two scores in the final 9 minutes to defeat Gipson and the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC championship game in January."There's just nothing you can do when you're playing a guy like that," said Gipson, a free safety. The Jaguars understand that as well as anybody. They are the only AFC team that has never beaten the New England Patriots with Brady under center. Their 0-8 record includes a few tight games, several lopsided losses and, most recently Youth Marcell Dareus Jersey , a come-from-behind gut punch that kept Jacksonville from the Super Bowl. Now, the Jags believe they are overdue for a victory against one of the NFL's greatest quarterbacks.Their next opportunity comes Sunday against the Patriots (1-0), a rematch of the conference title game. And there's no doubt the Jaguars (1-0) have had it circled on the calendar for some time."Jacksonville has never beaten him?" Gipson said.Nope. Winless in eight tries."So, 1 of 9," he said, predicting a victory. "I like it."Jacksonville has stewed since its last loss to New England, lamenting missed opportunities to put the Patriots away and what they insist was a bad call on linebacker Myles Jack's forced fumble and recovery."I'd be lying if I didn't say I've been thinking about last year's results," Jaguars cornerback A.J. Bouye said. "We definitely want to win against them here.""We can use that (loss) as motivation, but we can't get that back. It's a new year. That's how it is every year. Whatever happened in the past Cheap Blake Bortles Jersey , you forget about it. Those that hold onto it, they stay complacent or they get ahead of themselves because they're comparing to what happened last year. We can't do that."Still, there have plenty of reminders this week.Coach Doug Marrone has played Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer" during practice; the song is a staple at Patriots home games. The Jaguars also have the Super Bowl playing repeatedly in the locker room.Although players understand it's Week 2 and there's little at stake, they also know what knocking off the defending AFC champs could do for a young team moving forward."It would definitely show that we've grown and we've gotten that little monkey off our back," Jaguars defensive tackle Malik Jackson said. "I think the outside world would really see us graduating to that next stage. But we've still got 14 games to play. This isn't an end-all, be-all, but it is a meaningful game."For the Pats, it doesn't seem to mean quite as much."It's going to be an emotional environment," Brady said. "I think everyone http://www.jaguarscheapstore.com/josh-lambo-jersey-cheap , whenever you play some of the best teams, you want to see where you're measured up to, and that defense has been ranked very high all last year, and I could see why. ... They've got a lot of very talented players, some of the guys that are probably the best at their position."It should be a really great game for us to go out and see what we're made of."Here are some other things to know about the Patriots and Jaguars:FOURNETTE SITS?Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette expects to be a "game-time decision" because of a strained right hamstring. Fournette missed practice Wednesday and Thursday because of the injury sustained in the opener.SPECIAL TEAMS FOCUSThe Patriots, usually stout on special teams, struggled in the opener. They allowed 156 yards on kickoffs, a number way higher than special teams coach Joe Judge wants to see."This time of year, a lot of times it's working different combinations of players and getting guys in the right position to make plays next to one another Youth Myles Jack Jersey ," Judge said.BALL SECURITYPatriots tight end Rob Gronkowski said there would be an extra emphasis on ball security in preparation for the Jaguars, who have scored an NFL-high nine defensive touchdowns since the start of last season. The Patriots had three fumbles (two lost) in their opener, and Gronkowski was responsible for one of them."I think they get a turnover one out of every five possessions they average. That statistic right there is unbelievable," Gronkowski said. "It just shows how good of a defense they are, and you can't just go out there and just jog around. ... When you have the ball, you've got to protect it and get up the field."

RALEIGH http://www.officialpredators.com/authentic-adidas-ryan-hartman-jersey , N.C. (AP) Rod Brind’Amour came to Carolina in 2000 and never left.He worked his way up the Carolina Hurricanes‘ organizational ladder from key trade acquisition to captain of a Stanley Cup-winning team to the front office to assistant coach and, now, head coach. Along the way, he’s become so blended into the fabric of the community that he coached his son’s T-ball team in his spare time without drawing much attention. When he was introduced last month as Bill Peters’ successor, the Ottawa native referred to Raleigh as ”my town.””Obviously, I’ve been here a long time. My wife’s from here, we’ve got our families here,” Brind’Amour said. ”The organization means something to me, and wearing the crest, it’s special, and so I don’t envision myself being in the hockey world with anyone else. That’s kind of what I meant by it.”I bleed Hurricane red,” he added. With the NHL’s free agency period starting Sunday, Brind’Amour and the Hurricanes have something unique to sell – their new coach’s loyalty to the club and the city, and the intimate connection between the team and one of the league’s smallest markets – one that is starving for a winner. Carolina has the NHL’s longest active playoff drought, missing the postseason for nine consecutive years Ryan Johansen Jersey , and has made it only once since Brind’Amour hoisted the Cup in 2006.Brind’Amour, who was traded here 18 years ago by the Philadelphia Flyers in the Keith Primeau deal, holds a rare position among his peers in the coaching fraternity as one of only 20 active coaches in North America’s four major professional sports who played for the team he now coaches.”It’s special, and I think the attraction for me is that I believe in this group. … If we can just add the right pieces, I think we can be competitive,” Brind’Amour said. ”And I’ve been here when it was a great market, and we were good and had the support, so I know we can regain that.”None of those 20 coaches have continuously been with their franchise as long as Brind’Amour. The closest comparison might be Milwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell, who spent his childhood in that city while his father worked in the team’s front office and has been with the club since 2007. After finishing his playing career in 2011, he moved into the front office and took over as manager in 2015 following Ron Roenicke’s midseason firing.”Growing up here and being a fan of the Brewers, and just living here my whole life, the connection to the organization obviously means a lot,” Counsell said. ”It helps you understand the organization just because you’ve been a part of it and known it for a while. It helps you know the history; it helps you know the people. … I feel a responsibility to baseball in this state and in this city. I take that seriously.”In addition to Brind’Amour, only three other current coaches or managers have won championships while playing for those teams: Los Angeles Lakers coach Luke Walton won two titles as a forward in the 2000s, Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett was a backup quarterback on two Super Bowl-winning teams in the 1990s Viktor Arvidsson Jersey , and Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora was part of that club’s World Series-winning team in 2007.Raleigh’s small-town feel also affords Brind’Amour the chance to be a normal father. In a scene that might be hard to imagine in one of hockey’s pressure-cooker cities, Brind’Amour spent the spring coaching first base as an assistant for his son’s T-ball team in the suburb of Wake Forest. The team’s head coach, Matt Greene, described Brind’Amour as ”an active, involved dad” and said watching him with the young players was like ”watching the magic work.”He was talking to the kids about baseball … (and) the parents are talking about hockey, (with the parents telling him) `I’ve got my son signed up for hockey next spring,”’ Greene said. ”But Rod was talking to the kid, and putting it more on the kids. Not that Rod was the star, but the kid was the star in baseball.”Brind’Amour, the son-in-law of former North Carolina State basketball player and ex-UNC Asheville coach Eddie Biedenbach, connected with the Raleigh community pretty quickly after his 2000 arrival, and he hopes the current players can do the same.”We’re a younger team now, but as they get older … they’re going to see that this is a great place to raise a family,” he said. ”The people here are just friendly, they’re down-to-earth and it’s a comforting type of lifestyle. At the end of the day Robin Lehner Jersey Womens , we all try to be a champion and we want to be a Stanley Cup champion, but there’s other parts of life, too, that are important.”Being a hockey player, being successful, you’ve got to feel good about where you live,” he added. ”We’ve checked that part off. Now we’ve just got to get the hockey part dialed in.”—AP freelance writer Charles Gardner in Milwaukee contributed to this report. SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Ken Hitchcock knows the routine well by now as he begins his tenure as new coach of the Edmonton Oilers. For the fourth time in his long coaching career, Hitchcock has been tasked with taking over a struggling team in the middle of the season.Hitchcock was hired Tuesday as coach of his hometown Oilers after the team fired Todd McLellan with the team languishing in sixth place in the Pacific Division.“It’s not going to change overnight, but we can start taking some steps,” said Hitchcock, who led St. Louis to a first-place finish in 2011-12 after taking over as coach one month into the season. “I told the players today I can take them to a place personally that they can’t get to themselves, but they’ve got to buy into that, and it’s not going to be comfortable at times.”The Oilers have lost six of seven games, getting outscored 27-11 in those losses http://www.officialdevils.com/authentic-adidas-cory-schneider-jersey , in a rough start to McLellan’s fourth season behind the bench. The team missed the playoffs in two of his previous three seasons despite having superstar Connor McDavid on its roster and the Oilers were just 9-10-1 entering their game Tuesday night at San Jose.“It’s tough to pinpoint what we need, but we’re all to blame here,” McDavid said. “This obviously isn’t on Todd at all. It’s on us as players. That’s just how the business works sometimes. We got to wake up here.”McLellan is the fourth coach to be fired already this season, following John Stevens in Los Angeles, Joel Quenneville in Chicago and Mike Yeo in St. Louis. The Oilers are ahead of only the Blues and the Kings in the Western Conference standings.“Obviously we’re in a rough patch here,” general manager Peter Chiarelli said. “We’re leading into American Thanksgiving. It’s a bit of a template for making the playoffs. I felt I was seeing some things that I had seen last year after not seeing them for quite a fair bit this year, and these recurring themes, I wanted to nip them in the bud.”The 66-year-old Hitchcock announced his retirement in April after a 22-year coaching career, which included a Stanley Cup with the Dallas Stars in 1999. He had two stints in Dallas as well as head coaching stops in Philadelphia (2002-2006), Columbus (2006-2010) and St. Louis (2011-2017).Hitchcock is the third-winningest coach in NHL history with an overall record of 823-506-88-119 (.603 winning percentage). He has guided teams to eight division titles and twice to the best record in the NHL and has an 86-82 playoff record.“It’s definitely going to be tough,” said forward Kyle Brodziak, who played for Hitchcock in St. Louis. “It’s always an adjustment. Guys will have to get used to different styles. Hitch is a hard coach, He’s going to be tough on guys and demand a lot. We have to be ready to produce and face the music for sure.”St. Louis made the playoffs in each of Hitchcock’s five full seasons, reaching the Western Conference finals in 2016. The Blues abruptly fired Hitchcock in February 2017, cutting short what was already going to be his last season in St. Louis. He returned to Dallas with the hope of getting the Stars back to the playoffs but a late-season slump kept them out for the second straight year and the eighth time in 10 seasons. In April Jesper Bratt Jersey Kids , Hitchcock said he was retiring for good but changed his mind when the chance to coach the Oilers came up.He pointed to the chance to coach in his native Edmonton in an organization with many people he has worked with in the past, including with Chiarelli on Team Canada in 2014 as a reason to come back. Hitchcock said he also looks forward to coaching the 21-year-old McDavid, who has won the past two scoring titles.“He’s an awesome player. But he has an awesome responsibility,” Hitchcock said. “It’s not just scoring goals and getting points and stuff like that. He sets the competitive tone of the hockey club. I can really help him. I’ve been through some really good players who learned to adapt and do those things. I can help him along there and get him to understand what his responsibility is because he’s carrying too much of the burden and he needs to lighten the load a little bit.”There is plenty of blame to go around for the lackluster start in Edmonton by a top-heavy roster led by McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Chiarelli traded winger Taylor Hall to New Jersey for defenseman Adam Larsson in June 2016, and then signed forward Milan Lucic to a seven-year, $42 million contract a few days later. Hall won the Hart Trophy as league MVP last season, while Lucic has two goals in his last 66 games.Hitchcock becomes the seventh coach for the Oilers since the team fired Craig McTavish at the end of the 2008-09 season, following Pat Quinn, Tom Renney, Ralph Krueger, Dallas Eakins, Todd Nelson and McLellan.“He’s always had very good defensive teams,” Lucic said of Hitchcock. “We need to come together as a group no matter who the coach is.”

Sens fans and the city of Ottawa need to step up to save a pillar of this community.”He said billboards are a way for fans to be heard, and he contends ownership has driven off players and front-office staff. And, he adds, this is not just about this season, but ”a series of decisions over a long period of time.”The Senators advanced to the Eastern Conference final last season but will miss the playoffs. There’s a lot to it that I think a lot of us don’t understand and can’t appreciate.”Eugene’s stepped up big for this city. Growing up here, being a fan, I can remember there was a real danger of losing this team.”
