of the year come from very different ends of their career arcs.Browns offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens was not the team’s offensive coordinator when the year got underway. Kitchens was the running backs coach under Todd Haley http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-devin-hester-jersey , but he got bumped up to the coordinator position when Haley was fired along with head coach Hue Jackson eight games into the season. The move came with the Browns holding a 2-5-1 record, but they would win five of their final eight games and a major turnaround for rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield was a major reason for that turnaround. Mayfield completed 58.3 percent of his passes while throwing eight touchdowns and six interceptions before the coaching change. After Kitchens took over, Mayfield completed over 68 percent of his passes and posted 19 touchdowns against eight interceptions. The 27 total touchdown passes are a new rookie record and Kitchens also got rookie running back Nick Chubb going after the Browns traded Carlos Hyde to add another reason why many in Cleveland are hoping that Kitchens will remain with them team regardless of what decision they make with the head coaching position. While the 2018 season was Kitchens’ coming out party, it was just the latest in a long run of good years for Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. Fangio has been running defenses for the last 25 years and the Bears were happy to have him back with the team after hiring Matt Nagy as their head coach last year.Nagy got to work on building the offense while Fangio took control of a defense that allowed the fewest points in the NFL. They led the league in interceptions and takeaways while scoring six touchdowns and recording 50 sacks on the way to an NFC North title. That’s led to head coaching interviews for Fangio, although there are likely plenty of people in Chicago who hope that he’s in the running for this award again next year.Cowboys defensive backs coach Kris Richard and Ravens quarterbacks coach James Urban were a couple of other names that got thrown out in consideration for these awards, but Kitchens and Fangio wound up standing out above the rest. Chicago continues to add to their playmaking arsenal with the younger Ridley brother." CDTShare this storyShare this on FacebookShare this on TwitterShareAll sharing optionsShareAll sharing options for:2019 NFL Draft: Bears draft Riley Ridley at No. 126 overallTwitterFacebookRedditPocketFlipboardEmailPhoto by Kevin C. Cox/Getty ImagesJudging by their first two selections in the 2019 NFL Draft Womens Danny Trevathan Jersey , it’s clear the Bears had an imperative to continue adding young weapons to their deep offensive arsenal. After standing pat, the Bears have drafted former Georgia wideout Riley Ridley at No. 126 overall in the fourth round. Someone who can turn into a long-term standout if taken care of well.Let’s grade the Bears’ selection of another offensive position player. Grade: BThe only reason I don’t give Ridley’s addition flying colors is because he doesn’t address anymore pressing needs. The Bears could still use cornerback and edge depth in their pipelines. To be fair to them, at this point in the draft, their options at those positions were slim pickings. Otherwise, taking a player like Ridley in the fourth-round — someone many considered to be a second-round talent, yours truly included — is a great forward-thinking move. From bullying smaller cornerbacks and natural body control with the ball in the air, to sure hands — Ridley has every trait you seek in a bigger receiver at 6-foot-2 Cody Whitehair Jersey , 199 pounds. It’s the smaller aspects of his game like an occasional lacking quickness off the line he’ll have to fix to become a major contributor at the next level. If the Bears stay patient with Ridley as he learns the nuances of the professional game, he should turn into a solid and reliable player down the line. It won’t easy to quickly integrate into a complicated offensive scheme like head coach Matt Nagy’s, but Ridley has plenty of time.Standing pat and taking Ridley was the epitome of a “best player available” selection. You don’t pick a player in the fourth round if you don’t expect them to reach their potential. A two-year starter for the Bulldogs, Ridley is the younger brother of second-year Falcons standout Calvin Ridley. An impeccable red zone threat and big play weapon (he averaged over 14.7 yards per catch) Ridley caught nine touchdowns for Georgia last season. The main difference between the Ridley brothers is that Riley is slightly worse coming out and won’t be a 45-year-old rookie. The main similarity between the brothers is that they both tested relatively poorly in pre-draft work. Other than those two notions, he’s a respectable fourth-round developmental value for general manager Ryan Pace and company. After trading up for their running back of the future in David Montgomery on Friday night, the Bears add a young receiver to mold for the long-term in Ridley. He joins a deep Chicago offensive room, on paper http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-jonathan-bullard-jersey , that features Montgomery, Allen Robinson, Tarik Cohen, Anthony Miller, Trey Burton, Adam Shaheen, Cordarrelle Patterson Womens Akiem Hicks Jersey , Taylor Gabriel, Mike Davis, Marvin Hall, and Javon Wims. Talk about competition and depth at every skill position. Excuse me while I exhale. What’s intriguing about Ridley’s pick is what it potentially spells out for some of the Bears’ pricier active receivers. 28-year-old Taylor Gabriel has one more year of a sizable at cap hit at $6.5 million in 2019 on a deal signed last off-season. After next season’s conclusion, the Bears only incur $2 million in dead cap if they were to cut the smaller veteran wideout. To a lesser extent, Allen Robinson also has his dead cap drop to $2 million if cut after the 2019 season. He carries a $15 million cap hit next year on a soon-to-be cap-strapped roster with extensions like Cody Whitehair and Eddie Jackson on the way. Sometimes the writing on the wall is more obvious than it seems. In my mind, the Bears are more likely to move on from Gabriel after next year and stick with Robinson for another two years given that the latter is their No. 1 wideout. Gabriel doesn’t play special teams and has more of an ancillary role. But Bobby Massie Jersey , crucially, you can never rule out any scenario in the NFL. They don’t call the league “Not. For. Long” for nothing. The Bears are likely already preparing for a cheaper potential life after Gabriel and Robinson. When they move on is something they’ll just have to let play out. Until the Bears are forced to rectify with their pending difficult roster decisions, it’ll be fascinating to see how Nagy and his staff attempt to effectively integrate everyone on a Super Bowl contender. There’s but one ball for so many weapons on offense. It’s a good problem to have.

Officials ruled quarterback Case Keenum did not get into the end zone on the two-point run, but replay appeared to show he reached the ball across the plane before any body part touched the ground.CBS rules analyst Gene Steratore, a former NFL referee Doug Flutie Jersey , said the play falls under a coach’s challenge and would have expected the play to be overturned if Broncos coach Vance Joseph had challenged. The Chargers have thrown an interception and gone three-and-out on their last two drives to give the Broncos life.Michael Badgley‘s missed extra point is the difference right now. During Sunday’s game against the Chargers, the Bengals had to resort to communicating with walkie-talkies because of technical difficulties. The NFL says faulty cables were to blame.According to Marisa Contipelli of Bengals.com, the league put out a statement saying faulty cables were to blame.“During the game we had issues with the cable that allows the coach-to-coach and coach-to-player technology to communicate http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-trevor-williams-jersey , thus preventing play calls to be heard through that system. It had nothing to do with the actual headsets,” the league’s statement said.Bengals coach Marvin Lewis was frustrated during the game with the issue, and it’s hard to blame him: NFL coaches expect to have properly functioning communications technology Womens Desmond King Jersey , and the league should ensure that the technology is working properly, at every stadium, for both the home and road teams. After 16 training camp sessions of facing off against their own teammates, the Philadelphia Eagles will now get a new challenge with the Baltimore Ravens coming to town for two joint practices. This week will be especially important for the Eagles’ first team units since they’ve mostly been resting in preseason games. The Eagles and Ravens won’t be tackling to the ground but both teams will be in pads as they go up against each other. These practice reps could be the closest thing some starters — such as Carson Wentz — get to real action prior to Week 1.The Ravens should be a good challenge for the Eagles. Baltimore’s defense allowed the fewest points in the NFL last season. Second-year quarterback Lamar Jackson is a dynamic threat on offense. Jackson will be looking to target 2019 first-round pick (and former rumored Eagles draft target) Marquise Brown, assuming the rookie speedster is able to practice. The last time the Eagles held joint practices was with the Dolphins back in 2017. A number of Eagles players talked about how those sessions were valuable in building confidence and gauging how truly good they were before eventually going on a Super Bowl run. So, it’ll be interesting to see how things go this time around. Today’s two-hour practice will begin at 1:30 PM Eastern. Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz and offensive coordinator Mike Groh will have press conferences after practice. Players from both teams will also be available to reporters. Follow me (@BrandonGowton) on Twitter for live practice updates. Tom Brady and Drew Brees are nearing the end. The next 15 years, we could be talking about Pat and Carson. ”He’s that good.” And the skill set is that rare. This isn’t some up-and-down quarterback or prospect who’s shown a few signs that people are hoping point to a breakout. This is a future-of-the-league type of talent, ready to take over. When scouts look at Wentz, they see a special blend of size, athleticism, accuracy and quick decision-making skills, which is why the Eagles traded up to steal him out from under the rest of the NFL after the Rams selected Jared Goff with the first pick in 2016.Eagles Practice Notes: Injury updates on Brandon Brooks http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-dallas-goedert-jersey , Ronald Darby, Nigel Bradham, and others - BGNCARSON WENTZ UPDATE: Wentz didn’t get a ton of work today but he did look pretty good in limited action. Wentz, who has sometimes struggled with his accuracy on touch passes, did a nice job of floating the ball to his intended targets to hit them in stride. Wentz specifically did this with Josh Adams (!) along the sideline, DeSean Jackson along the other sideline, and Mack Hollins deep down the field.Eagles training camp practice notes, Day 16: Josh McCown’s first day on the job - PhillyVoiceAlso after the Jags game, on Snapchat (h/t Eagles reddit), Dillard bristled at the notion that he was at fault for the hit that knocked Kessler out of the game. In his post-game press conference, Pederson — as well as several current and former offensive linemen on Twitter — placed the blame on a bad read by Kessler, and absolved Dillard of any blame. Dillard has had a very good camp, and has looked good in each of his first two preseason games. His play has largely been well reviewed. I’m curious how he might react if he has a bad showing and real criticism comes his way. One of Nick Foles’ strengths was tuning out what people were saying about him when he wasn’t playing well, and simply going about his business. Sometimes that’s easier said than done, and the Eagles would be smart to tutor Dillard on how to handle what can often be a harshly critical environment here in Philly.Updates and Changes - Iggles BlitzDoug Pederson made it sound like Brett Toth would focus on OT for now. It makes sense to have him focus on one position at the moment. He’s got to learn the playbook, the scheme and adjust to pro football. You can mix in other positions in the future (if there is a future here for him). Toth has the right attitude about how to attack this situation and also wanting to know multiple positions. An encouraging 2019 debut: WR Mack Hollins is back - PE.comEverything felt the same, as odd as that sounds for someone who hadn’t suited up for an NFL game since February 4 Womens Rodney McLeod Jersey , 2018 in Super Bowl LII, the most significant game in the history of the Philadelphia Eagles. Wide receiver Mack Hollins went through his normal pre-game paces, loosened up the way he always did through his career at the University of North Carolina and his rookie season with the Eagles. And then it was game time. And there was Hollins making a catch for a 5-yard gain and running down in punt coverage and dominating. Just like old times, but in a new time that between games felt like a lifetime of recovery and rehabilitation. “It means a lot. It was a long journey,” Hollins said after Thursday night’s preseason game in Jacksonville. “Unfortunately, it’s been a little while since I’ve been out here, but it was awesome being out there with my teammates, running around, feeling good.”25 fantasy numbers you need to know before your draft - The Athletic173 — The most carries by an Eagles running back during the three years since Doug Pederson’s been the head coach. Rookie Miles Sanders is the most talented back on the roster, but the team traded for Jordan Howard and brought back Darren Sproles. In the past, even when one back was playing better than the others, they still rotated. Sanders has the most upside, and in 2020, he has a great chance to be the clear lead back. But this season, the Eagles will likely take a running back by committee approach that will frustrate fantasy owners. Do not reach for any of these guys. Why 40-year-old QB Josh McCown was willing to cut short his retirement and sign with the Eagles - InquirerIt remains to be seen whether he’ll play in Thursday’s preseason game against the Ravens. “We’ll see where he is,’’ Pederson said. “Obviously, he has a lot to learn and to catch up on. So we’ll see. We’ll see on that.’’ McCown said he’s in pretty good shape. “I was coaching high school ball and playing hoops and running and staying pretty active Alshon Jeffery Jersey ,’’ he said. “I’m not someone who likes to sit still. It’s really a credit to her, just being an amazing mother and working her butt off to make sure we never felt like we didn’t have money, even though we didn’t. I don’t know how she did it. Brown is set to participate in joint practices against the Eagles on Monday and Tuesday and if all goes well, “Hollywood” could be in-line to play against Philadelphia on Thursday.Jay Gruden Redskins Presser: Colt McCoy could miss first few weeks of regular season - Hogs HavenJay Gruden talked to the media after today’s practice. Colt McCoy’s leg is still not right, and this could linger into the regular season. This puts the starting QB race between veteran Case Keenum and rookie Dwayne Haskins. The starters will likely play most of the first half next week against the Falcons. Gruden wants to have the starting QB locked down after this week’s game. We have supported that, we appreciate that. But we’ve at this point we’ve pretty much exhausted all avenues of relief. So, from our perspective, it’s time for him to be all in or all out. Womens Akiem Hicks Jersey , an obscure anniversary will arrive for the NFL.December 31, 1988. The Fog Bowl.During the second quarter of a wild-card playoff game between the Eagles and Bears on New Year’s Eve nearly 30 years ago, a dense fog rolled in to Soldier Field. The thick blanket of excessively liquified air dramatically reduced visibility. The unusual and intriguing development quickly melted to a virtually unwatchable game Bobby Massie Jersey , televised by CBS and called by Verne Lundquist and Terry Bradshaw. The unwatchable game between Mike Ditka’s Bears and Buddy Ryan’s Eagles can be watched in full, with the stunningly clear pre-fog conditions becoming a white soup of the sort that hasn’t happened in a playoff game since then. (Fog marred a Sunday night game 14 months ago between the Falcons and Patriots in New England, but a quick switch by NBC to the overheard camera on cables saved the day.)The first postseason Fog Bowl reunion happened seventeen years ago http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-jordan-howard-jersey , when Andy Reid’s Eagles beat Dick Jauron’s Bears in a divisional-round matchup at Soldier Field. On Sunday, if the Eagles outscore Washington and the Bears upend the Vikings (and if the Rams don’t lose to the 49ers), a pair of Andy Reid proteges Womens Eddie Jackson Jersey , Doug Pederson and Matt Nagy, will meet at Soldier Field for only the second Eagles-Bears playoff game since New Year’s Eve 1988. Bears safety Eddie Jackson scored more touchdowns than a lot of offensive players in November. The second-year player scored in three of Chicago’s four games this month and he has been named the NFC’s defensive player of the month in recognition of those performances.Jackson kicked off the month by returning a fumble 65 yards for a touchdown as the Bears ransacked the Bills 41-9 in Week Nine and then returned interceptions for touchdowns in each of the team’s last two games. His 27-yard score against the Vikings in Week 11 helped the Bears open up a big lead before holding on for a 25-20 win and he snapped a 16-16 fourth quarter tie against the Lions last week by returning a Matthew Stafford interception 41 yards for a score.Jackson also scored two touchdowns during his rookie season, so his nose for the end zone has been in evidence for some time. He’ll try to add to that total against the Giants in Week 13.

Chargers DraftNFL DraftBolts bolster defensive line in new PFF mock draftNew,10commentsPSTThe Los Angeles Chargers had a top-10 defense by most worthwhile metrics and that certainly held up to the eye test. That said, the defense certainly still had some weaknesses Womens Isaac Rochell Jersey , and one of those weak points was along the interior of the defensive line. Pro Football Focus’ Steve Palazzolo took notice of that in making his Chargers pick in his newest mock draft by selecting Notre Dame’s Jerry Tillery. The Fighting Irish’s defensive tackle sports the best pass rushing grade by an interior defensive lineman per Pro Football Focus. A converted offensive tackle, Tillery put up 7.0 sacks, 8.5 tackles for loss, and forced two fumbles during his Senior season to cap off a four-year career in South Bend.Tillery would go a good ways toward curing what ails the Chargers’ defense by strengthening the defensive front both against the run and the pass. His 6’7” Michael Badgley Jersey , 305 lb frame would be a welcome addition to a defensive interior that needs an infusion of both bulk and talent. Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers said on Monday that he doesn’t feel like he’s in a rush to get a new contract done and he also said he’s not in a great rush to start thinking about winning Super Bowl LIV in Miami next February. That’s obviously the ultimate goal for a team that went 12-4 last year, but Rivers said that the team needs to work “one day at a time” and one goal at a time as they work their way through 2019. The Chargers’ 12-4 record didn’t get them any home playoff games because the Chiefs won the division and Rivers said that taking the AFC West comes before any other tea goals this season.“What we’ve talked about forever since I’ve been here is how important winning the division is,” Rivers said. “That’s always going to be our first goal is finding a way to win the division, which we didn’t do. We had opportunities to do [it]. You look through those games we let get away those end up making it tougher on the path.”The Chargers haven’t won the division since a streak of four straight titles came to an end after the 2009 season and they failed to make the playoffs three times with a winning record over the last decade. That further illustrates the importance of getting the job done in the regular season before moving on to the next task.
http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-carson-wentz-jersey , the season outlook for the Eagles is still up in the air. What is increasingly clear however is the quality of their rookie group. Where some rookies would wilt after two disastrous performances to start a career Womens Isaac Seumalo Jersey , Dillard rebounded with back-to-back brilliant games against the Bills and then against Khalil Mack and the Bears. The Jaguars had something to prove to the Patriots and everyone else, that they deserve to be in the conversation for the best team in the NFL but against the Titans it’s just a ho-hum divisional game and they could overlook them. You wouldn’t be more incorrect.“We’re going to sweep the division other than losing to Houston,” Titans defensive lineman Jurrell Casey told Paul Kuharsky back in December of last year, when the Jaguars clinched the AFC South. “But we can’t win the division. That’s the part that sucks. They won’t even technically beat us and win the division. It is what it is. They’re supposed to be king of the South and we’re ready to see that.”It didn’t stop there.“We didn’t want their offense to score at all, and it looks like that’s what happened. It looks like that’s what happened. Sorry. At the beginning of the week, I was talking about that,” Casey said after the Titans beat the Jaguars last season. “King of the South? King of the South? Sounds great, but got to be able to beat us. Jacksonville didn’t play great today. Appreciate the turnovers. Helped us out a lot.”The Jaguars have a lot to prove on Sunday against the Titans, maybe more-so than they did against the New England Patriots. The Jaguars showed last season, even in a loss, in the AFC Championship that they belonged. Not only that, a big reason why they got where they did in the playoffs was because quarterback Blake Bortles wasn’t turning the ball over. The Titans are limping into TIAA Bank Field this week with a 1-1 record and their offense hasn’t done squat the first two weeks of the season. They can’t run the ball, their passing game has been awful even with Mariota and they’re struggling to score points. The Jaguars can show a lot by crushing the Titans like the bad vulnerable football team they are right now and wiping out any chance they can sweep them again and chirp about who the real division champ is.Make no mistake, this game is just as big as last Sunday. If it were any other team I’d be worried about the proverbial let down game, but with it being the Titans? No way. There should be no let down. They should be frothing at the mouth to shut them up.There’s pride involved. Neither Leonard Fournette's lingering frustration or Jacksonville's long drought without a 100-yard rusher showed any sign of abating Sunday when the Jaguars fell behind Denver by two touchdowns and Von Miller was celebrating his 100th career sack.Fournette never lost faith and finished with a career-best 225 yards on 29 carries, sparking the Jaguars to a 26-24 win on Josh Lambo's 33-yard field goal as time expired."Making one guy miss and not letting one guy tackle you http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-t.j.-yeldon-jersey , that was my whole mentality coming into this game," said Fournette, who darted past Bradley Chubb at the line and bowled over Justin Simmons on his 81-yard rumble in the third quarter. That set up Jacksonville's go-ahead touchdown and gave both him and the Jaguars (2-2) their first 100-yard game since Dec. 10, 2017, against Seattle."It was huge," Minshew said. "We were kind of backed up at that point, we got a good run, the O-line blocked it up and he did what he does. Once he gets in the secondary 1-on-1, he's hard to deal with. I was really happy for him to really get rolling. I know he's been getting frustrated and it was an awesome day for him."Fournette topped his previous career high of 181 yards on Oct. 8, 2017, at Pittsburgh. The Broncos (0-4) not only were victimized by a last-second field goal for the second time this season, but they blew a 14-point lead at home in a loss for the first time since 2006."We've got to find a way to close the game out," Miller said.Minshew rove the Jaguars, one of four AFC South teams who are 2-2, into field goal range after Joe Flacco's 8-yard TD throw to Courtland Sutton with 1:38 left gave Denver a 24-23 lead.Eerily reminiscent of their 16-14 loss to the Bears in Denver two weeks ago, the Broncos helped ignite the winning drive by getting whistled for roughing the passer.Against Chicago Womens Ronnie Harrison Jersey , it was Chubb's questionable penalty, which the league admitted was a bad call. Against the Jaguars, it was a flag by Miller, who reached up and struck Minshew in his neck just as he released his pass after picking up the ball Chubb had knocked from his hand in a chaotic pocket."The refs got a hard job," Miller said. "We've got a hard job. It's just tough. It was a tough day, but we can't really blame the refs."On the next play, Minshew hit Chris Conley with a 32-yard strike to get Lambo in range for his fourth field goal.Miller's foul spoiled his big day in which he collected his 99th and 100th career sacks and drew several holding penalties, one of which wiped away a Jaguars touchdown. The Broncos finally ended their sack drought, dropping Minshew five times, but suddenly they couldn't stop the run.The result was their first home loss in which they led by 14 or more points since Nov. 19, 2006, when they were beaten by the Chargers 35-27 after jumping out to a 24-7 lead. The Jaguars also recorded their first takeaway of the season despite missing star cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who was deactivated and missed a game for the first time in his four-year NFL career. He missed practice all week, first with an illness, then a back injury and finally for paternity leave.Denver led by two TDs and was driving for another score just before halftime when safety Ronnie Harrison intercepted Flacco, who airmailed a pass to Emmanuel Sanders. That led to Lambo's second field goal Will Richardson Jersey , pulling the Jaguars to 17-6 at the break."We weren't going to freak out," Minshew said. "We were down 11 and we got some points just before half; that was huge. We knew we were going to get the ball back and have a chance to get right back in the game. We never doubted."Coming out of the break, the Jaguars employed a heavy front with 308-pounder Cedric Ogbuehi serving as an eligible receiver and extra blocker for Fournette. The Jaguars went on a 75-yard, 16-play opening drive that ate up nearly 10½ minutes, which Minshew capped with a 7-yard TD toss to running back Ryquell Armstead after slipping two potential sacks and with Derek Wolfe and Miller bearing down on him. After Denver went three-and-out, Fournette reeled off his 81-yard run, setting up tight end James O'Shaughnessy's 18-yard TD grab that put the Jaguars ahead 20-17.This was the Broncos' third gut-wrenching loss in coach Vic Fangio's first month."Adversity can bring you together or break you," defensive end Derek Wolfe said. "'So, we have to use this to bring us together, use it as a positive. Otherwise, we are in for another (bad) season."GAME OF FIRSTSRookie tight end Noah Fant scored his first career TD on a 25-yard catch-and-run dumpoff from Flacco, and undrafted rookie pass rusher Malik Reed recorded his first sack.INJURIES:Broncos ILB Josey Jewell aggravated a hamstring injury in the second quarter.UP NEXTJaguars: Visit the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.Broncos: Visit the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
to earn the game’s highest rating this year." The Bears DenNotesXs and OsSuperfansKhalil Mack gets 99 overall rating in Madden 20New Prince Amukamara Jersey ,19commentsThe All-Pro is one of just four players to earn the game’s highest rating this year.CDTAs is the case in real life, Bears linebacker Khalil Mack will be unstoppable in Madden this year. The four-time Pro Bowler was announced on Thursday as the third player to receive a perfect 99 overall rating in the upcoming Madden NFL 20 video game. He marks the third of four players to have received the ranking, joining Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald and Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner. The fourth player has yet to be announced.Mack is coming off of a season which saw him tally 12.5 sacks, 10 tackles for a loss and 18 quarterback hits in 14 games. He was named a first-team All-Pro for his efforts, his third nomination of his career. He started off last season as a 95 overall in Madden 19 after an update saw his rating drop three points after the Bears traded for him, moving him from defensive end to outside linebacker. However, the developers eventually moved his rating up to a 99 during the season.Mack has already been given the Unstoppable Force Superstar X-Factor, a new feature in Madden this year. The ability allows him to win against any blocker in a one-on-one situation if he gets two or more sacks. It wears off when one’s defense allows 10 or more yards on a single play. With this rating http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-adam-shaheen-jersey , Mack has been placed in elite territory by EA Sports and will surely be a treat for gamers to play with this year.Chicago Bears 2018 Position Battles: Does the safety depth concern you? The Chicago Bears are set at starting safety. When is the last offseason we could say that as Bears’ fans?I can already hear some of you guys cringing at that first sentence because you either don’t trust second year pro Eddie Jackson to build off of his rookie year, or you have zero faith in Adrian Amos. These two had a solid year last year, and they did that because their skill sets were able to play off each other. I thought Quinton Demps, as the starting strong safety, was going to be perfect pairing with the rookie Jackson last year. When he went down, Amos stepped into the thumper role and he played with the confidence that comes when being in the same defense for his entire career. Roster locksAmos had a good year last year, and he’s been solid his entire career. There seems to be this split amongst Bears’ fans where you either think Amos is an elite safety — because PFF and Madden says he is — or you think he sucks. This ignorance of the grey area annoys the hell out of me. When I think of an “elite” safety, I want a game changer. I want a playmaker. For those of you that subscribe to the PFF line of thinking Womens Mitchell Trubisky Jersey , what has been your favorite game changing moment of Amos’ career? Amos has forty career starts, but the only play that comes to mine is his 90-yard interception return from last season. That’s it.For those of you that believe Amos sucks, what game has his mistake directly led to a loss? Are there a lot of missed gap assignments or blown coverages that come to mind when thinking about his three year career? He understands his job, and he usually executes his assignment within the defense. His pairing with Eddie Jackson brought out the best in him and I’m excited to see how this duo grows together this season. Amos is what he is, and what he is is a solid football player that could be still ascending at 25-years old. As for Jackson, I gave my thoughts on him when I placed him on my annual Top 10 Most Important Bears’ list this year, #7 Eddie Jackson can be a star. With the way he’s been mentioned by name this offseason, I also think Deon Bush is a lock. The Bears are happy with the 24-year old’s development after playing sporadically his first two years. A good bet to make itLast year the Bears opened up with four safeties on the 53-man roster. In 2016 Pat O'Donnell Jersey , they started out with six, and in 2015 it was five, so there’s no real pattern to what Vic Fangio wants at the position. If they just go with just four, it may be a stretch to have one spot for special teams ace, DeAndre Houston-Carson. He hasn’t played much defense at all during his two years in Chicago (25 total snaps), but he’s really good in the third phase (10 tackles, 2 forced fumbles last year). It will be interesting to watch him play defense during preseason. On the bubbleCorners Deiondre’ Hall and Jonathan Mincy, whom I went over in my look at the cornerbacks http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-kyle-long-jersey , are both listed on the depth chart at safety. Hall has bounced around between the two positions during his two years in Chicago, but he’s also had some injury issues, while Mincy was a stand out in the CFL last year at corner. These two will be need to prove worthy, but their versatility could garner one of them a spot on the opening day roster. Undrafted free agent Nick Orr is listed at defensive back on the roster, but he’s on the unofficial depth chart as a safety.
Divisional Round - Stampede BlueNo matter how the weather turns out. This game has been discussed at great lengths and the best consensus we have been able to reach is that there is no consensus. The strengths and weaknesses of each team make a compelling case for one outcome Russell Okung Jersey , game script or another. Let’s sift through everything and reduce it down to the keys for a Colts victory.Five stats that could determine the Chiefs’ game against the Colts - Arrowhead PrideIf there’s one thing Chiefs fans can feel confident in this season, it’s Patrick Mahomes’ arm. For good reason, too. The young quarterback is coming off of a historic season with over 5,000 yards thrown and 50 TD passes — wow. With that arm, Mahomes threw the most passes that were at least 20 yards downfield and averaged 82 yards per game on deep passes. This doesn’t look good for the Colts defense: Tyreek Hill walked off the field holding his wrist Sunday and Kansas City Chiefs fans held their collective breath, only to exhale when their star wide receiver checked back into the game. They held it again when Hill hobbled to the sideline with a foot injury. But in a back-and-forth game with significant playoff ramifications, there was no way Hill was going to stay there. He limped back into the game in time to catch Patrick Mahomes‘ 40-yard heave on fourth-and-long to keep the Chiefs alive, then caught three more passes in overtime 鈥?all for first downs 鈥?to set the Chiefs up for the eventual winning field goal against Baltimore.“He’s a fighter,” Mahomes said afterward. “He was hobbled http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-kyle-emanuel-jersey , but you’ve seen this whole season that it’s not just speed now. It’s his route-running, and he knows how to get himself open without speed.”Oh, the speed is still there. Even after the pain in his foot briefly sent him to the sideline, Hill was still the fastest player on the field the moment he stepped back on it.But in addition to his toughness, he also showed how well-rounded he’s become this season. The deep throw from Mahomes was in some ways a wing-and-a-prayer, the kind of ball you throw when you run out of better options. Hill acted like a center fielder as he came back to the ball, tracking it all the way into his hands while a pair of Ravens tried to break it up.“He’s still fast as all get-out,” Mahomes said, “but just being able to get himself open whenever he is a little bit more limited in that situation Womens Forrest Lamp Jersey , it’s a special thing.”Hill finished the game with eight catches for 139 yards, his fifth 100-yard receiving game this season. He now has 1,258 yards to match Tony Gonzalez for the fourth-best single season in franchise history, and he needs just 134 yards to pass Derrick Alexander for the record. That could come as early as Thursday night, when the Chiefs (11-2) try to clinch the AFC West and a first-round playoff bye against the Los Angeles Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium.“This kid never complains about anything and he practices hard every day,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid said. “He was banged up a little bit (against Baltimore) and he worked his way through it, came back and made some big plays for us. You love his attitude. He’s another one that is unique.”His attitude may have been the biggest question surrounding Hill coming out of college. He was kicked off the team at Oklahoma State after pleading guilty to domestic assault of his then-pregnant girlfriend. He wound up finishing his college career at West Alabama, and went through counseling and other requirements that convinced the Chiefs to give him a chance.Hill has rewarded them for it, becoming not only one of the most electrifying players in the NFL Mike Williams Jersey , but doing so with a positive attitude that has endeared him to many skeptical fans.“Just making plays for the team,” he said with a shrug.Hill also shrugged off any notion that he would have remained out of the game against Baltimore, and he left no doubt that he would be ready for the Chargers. The wrist injury was minor, and the foot was something he was able to play through, and there wasn’t a whole lot more to say.“I was always taught, no matter the circumstances, these are my brothers,” he said, “and they would do the same thing for me.”Notes: OL Cam Erving (knee) http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-darius-philon-jersey , WR Sammy Watkins (foot) and RB Spencer Ware (hamstring) did not practice Tuesday. … Defensive coordinator Bob Sutton declined to confirm whether safety Eric Berry would make his season debut Thursday night, but he did sound as if it’s possible. “A lot of times a guy that has missed a lot of time, you have to be careful,” he said. “They don’t usually want to come out.” … Offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy said it’s likely WR Kelvin Benjamin would make his Chiefs debut after signing late last week. “We’re bringing him along slowly,” Bieniemy said, “but we want him to see the entire package and understand the entire package.”
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — help to keep playing and have a chance to defend their Super Bowl title. All the Washington Redskins can do now is play spoiler. It’s do-or-die for the Eagles (8-7) when they visit the Redskins (7-8) on Sunday. A victory coupled with a loss by the Vikings (8-6-1) at home against the Bears (11-4) gives Philadelphia the final wild-card spot and the NFC’s No. 6 seed. A loss sends them on an early vacation.Article continues below ...“It’s tough not to control your own destiny but at the same time Womens Nelson Agholor Jersey , if you focus on everything else that is going on and we have a slip-up because we’re not focusing on our jobs, it’s really not going to matter,” Eagles tight end Zach Ertz said. The Eagles didn’t expect to be in this position after winning their first NFL championship since 1960. They were the clear favorites in the NFC East and thinking repeat, but inconsistency and injuries plagued them from the start. The Redskins were surprise division leaders when they opened 6-3. But they’ve lost five of six after starting quarterback Alex Smith and backup Colt McCoy went down with season-ending injuries.“We have to set our goals high and we have to try to figure out a way to beat Philadelphia and focus on what they do and try to come up with a plan to best put our players in a position to make plays and win the football game,” Redskins coach Jay Gruden said.“That’s the only thing we can do right now moving forward. Are we sick about the position we’re in? Yes we are. There’s 15, 16 other teams that are in the same boat Zach Ertz Jersey , and I expect they are going to go out and compete the last game of the year also. It’s no different here.”The Eagles have been resilient, rebounding after a 41-point loss to the Saints dropped their record to 4-6. They won two in a row only to suffer a disappointing overtime loss at Dallas and learning afterward that Carson Wentz would be sidelined by a back injury. Then Nick Foles stepped in and led Philadelphia to consecutive victories over 10-win teams. Foles, the Super Bowl MVP in the victory over New England, was outstanding in an upset win at the Los Angeles Rams and sensational in a comeback win over Houston. Now, he has to do it again and it may not be enough. If the Vikings win, the Eagles are eliminated. The playoff-bound Bears still have a chance to earn the No. 2 seed so a first-round bye is enough incentive for coach Matt Nagy to play his starters at Minnesota. The Eagles can only focus on the Redskins.“All we can control is our preparation and what we do on a day-in-and-day-out basis getting ready for the game http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-fletcher-cox-jersey , staying in the moment, controlling what we can control,” Foles said. Here’s some things to watch for when the Eagles try to complete a season sweep against the Redskins:YOUNG AND OLDUndrafted rookie Josh Adams has emerged as Philadelphia’s leading rusher while Redskins veteran Adrian Peterson became the oldest player to rush for 1,000 yards in a season since John Riggins did it in 1984 for Washington.TRENCH BATTLESThe Eagles have one of the top offensive lines in the NFL. Right tackle Lane Johnson has dominated opponents lately, including J.J. Watt. Right guard Brandon Brooks was selected for his second straight Pro Bowl. The Redskins are also strong upfront. Their starting defensive linemen — Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne and Matt Ioannidis — have combined for 20½ sacks. Linebacker Ryan Kerrigan leads the team with 12.MIGHTY MOUSEDarren Sproles had 76 yards receiving in Philadelphia’s win against the Texans Womens Jake Elliott Jersey , including a 37-yard touchdown catch on fourth-and-2 on the offense’s opening drive. The speedy and diminutive Sproles has played four games in a row after missing 10 with a hamstring injury. He could be playing his last NFL game. The 35-year-old had planned to retire after this season, but isn’t certain after missing so much action.SCRAMBLER JOSHScrambling quarterbacks have given Philadelphia trouble this season. Deshaun Watson had 49 yards rushing last week. Washington’s Josh Johnson has run for 116 yards on 20 carries.RECORD-SETTERErtz broke Jason Witten’s single-season record for most receptions by a tight end. He has 113 and counting. Ertz has caught more passes (68) against the Redskins than any other team in his six-year career. Eagles starting cornerback Ronald Darby’s season is over. On Monday morning, Doug Pederson officially confirmed Darby suffered a torn ACL during Philadelphia’s Sunday night loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The Eagles will likely soon place Darby on injured reserve to free up a roster spot. When that happens, Darby will become the fifth starter to end up on IR this season. With Darby out, the Eagles’ thin secondary becomes even thinner. Starting nickel cornerback Sidney Jones has been out since getting hurt in Week 6. There’s optimism he can return in Week 11 but we’ll have to see how he does in practice this week. As for Jalen Mills, who sat out in Week 10 Derek Barnett Jersey , Pederson said he’s still “a little further away” from returning. The Eagles’ active corners for their Week 11 game against an explosive Saints offense could include: Jones, Rasul Douglas, Cre’Von LeBlanc, Chandon Sullivan, and De’Vante Bausby. Douglas struggled against Dallas while starting in place of Mills. LeBlanc only joined the team last week after getting claimed on waivers. Sullivan is an undrafted rookie free agent who was called up from the practice squad last month. Bausby was recently re-signed to the practice squad and I’m assuming he’ll get the call up to the main roster. It remains to be seen how Darby’s injury impacts his long-term standing with the Eagles. Darby is set to be a free agent this offseason. The Eagles might’ve been counting on him to get a big deal in free agency so that they could potentially get a nice compensatory pick for him in 2020. Or maybe the Eagles had plans on re-signing him to a long-term deal. Perhaps Darby’s injury will allow him to return on a short-term prove-it contract. We’ll see.In the meantime, it’s hard not to feel like this just isn’t the Eagles’ year. Injuries have hardly been the only reason for struggles but they certainly haven’t helped. But to take it in a different direction, we wanted to break the schedule down into four easy to digest portions of prognostications. Former Bears head coach, Lovie Smith, used to like to break the schedule into four quarters — much like a football game — so we’re going to do the same thing here at WCG. And we’re also going to do it roundtable style to get more of our Bears experts involved in the process. To see what we said about the first quarter you can check that out here.We weren’t as optimistic in the second quarter, and you can see those predictions here. The Bears have some winable games in the third quarter Womens Mitchell Trubisky Jersey , so check out our picks here. Here’s how the fourth quarter of the season will go for the Bears.4th QuarterWeek 14: vs. Dallas Cowboys, Thursday, Dec. 5, 7:20 p.m., FOX/NFLN/AmazonWeek 15: at Green Bay Packers, Sunday, Dec. 15, noon, FOXWeek 16: vs. Kansas City Chiefs, Sunday, Dec. 22, 7:20 p.m. Pat O'Donnell Jersey , NBCWeek 17: at Minnesota Vikings, Sunday, Dec. 29, noon, FOX(All times Central)Lester A. Wiltfong Jr. - (3-1, 13-3) Playing the Cowboys on a Thursday in Chicago after both teams are coming off Thanksgiving is a nice quirk in the schedule. I think the Bears have the defense to stymie Dallas and get a big win. I also think their defense will be enough to beat the Chiefs. Sweeping Aaron Rodgers is tough, and the Vikings to close it out could go either way. Getting thirteen wins is going to be tough, and injuries around the league will have something to say about that. I have the Bears winning the NFC North, at no worse than 10-6. The fun thing about this year’s Bears’ team is every game is winnable. In Lester’s latest T Formation Conversation podcast, he’s joined by Jacob Infante, and they get us ready for the NFL Draft talking about some realistic prospects the Bears could be targeting.Erik Christopher Duerrwaechter - (4-0, 15-1) Not only do I predict the Bears sweeping the NFC North this year -- they came within a dropped pick of accomplishing that in 2018 -- but their final four games features the two toughest opponents being hosted at Soldier Field. They’ll assuredly have their first round bye and division clinched long beforehand. As long as the Bears resolve their issues with the ground game and at kicker http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-kyle-long-jersey , and stay healthy, there’s really not a single game that terrifies me. Even the Eagles game, which I currently have as their lone blemish, is winnable if they learn from their mistakes in the postseason. This season prediction would tie them for their best record (15-1) since the merger. Sam Householder - (3-1, 11-5) Maybe this is bold, but I think Dallas in Chicago is very winnable, especially since it can be treated as a normal game week. Going to Lambeau is always tough but that’s kind of the last dragon to slay, so to speak, as far as streaks Nagy and Co. need to break, so I can see them getting up for that. Especially given their last visit to Green Bay didn’t go as planned. The Chiefs are going to be tough and there will be a lot of hype around that game but I have to give the Chiefs a slight edge as it sits today. Week 17 could be similar to last year for the Vikings, where they are in a win-and-in scenario. If my record holds, the Bears might be on the outside of a bye but they could have seeding to play for too. I won’t trust Kirk Cousins in a must-win game until I see it first.Ken Mitchell - (4-0 Womens Tom Waddle Jersey , 16-0) Add Dallas to the list of teams that are overrated and under coached. Green Bay may well be tougher in this game if Aaron Rodgers survives this long and the team is functional. We’ll see who melts down first, Rodgers or LaFleur. Kansas City is another team that it’s much better to play at home in Chicago, but frankly both teams may be starting subs by this point in the season. We proved last year that our subs are a lot better than theirs. What’s up with always finishing against Minnesota? My over/under on Kirk Cousins being benched for poor performance is week 7, in case anybody cares.Bears clinch the north, have home field advantage throughout the playoffs, and break the ‘72 Dolphins’s hearts as the first undefeated team in league history playing 19 games (the Dolphins only won 17) by taking out the Super Bowl in Miami. Aaron Leming - (2-2, 12-4) I really want to give the Bears a (3-1) final quarter of the season, but this is going to be a tough stretch. They’ll face a pair of first place teams in the Chiefs and Cowboys, not to mention their two toughest divisional opponents. As we’ve seen the past few years, it wouldn’t surprise me to see a top NFC team like the Bears stumble a little bit before making it to the playoffs. The good news? I think there’s enough parity within the NFC where 12 wins will give the Bears a first round bye and home field advantage for their first playoff game. There’s no question this is a much tougher schedule on paper but it’s also been proven that using strength of schedule from the previous year, rarely equates to much of anything. This is a Super Bowl caliber team and I fully expect them to be in the NFC Championship game at the minimum. I’ll let the draft play out and see how everything shapes up before making a final prediction but I do believe that this could be the year and it’s possible that the Chiefs matchup could end up being a Super Bowl preview.Robert Schmitz - (2-2, 12-4) I’ll believe we can sweep Aaron Rodgers’ Packers when I see it with my own two eyes. While everything about the teams tells me we should be able to sweep them Sam Acho Jersey , we haven’t done it since 2007 -- I’ll have to see it to believe it. Bears versus ‘Boys will be interesting, but I ultimately think more of Trubisky than I do of Prescott and more of our defense than theirs, so that feels like a win to me. I think we make a few too many mistakes in Week 16 before smoking the Vikings to end the season, finishing the year with a first round bye and positive momentum heading into the playoffs.Probably my biggest takeaway from looking at this year’s schedule is that every game is winnable. That feels crazy to say, but our roster makes it absolutely true. The Bears could very well outperform the 12-4 mark I have set for them, but I think 4 losses is a nice conservative benchmark to set for the team (again, assuming good health). I think we win the North and legitimately challenge for a Super Bowl -- if Trubisky turns in a top 10 season, I honestly think we bring the Lombardi trophy home.

This time the late-game heroics came after Philip Rivers threw a 6-yard pass to Austin Ekeler that gave the Chargers (4-6) a 24-20 lead with 4:02 remaining.Carr completed three passes to Jalen Richard and two to Hunter Renfrow to start the game-winning 75-yard drive before Jacobs finished it off with his seventh touchdown of his rookie season, running through a big hole created by center Rodney Hudson and guard Richie Incognito."As soon as I saw it, I was just thinking, 'Go!'" he said. "I knew this would either be a big run or a first down and luckily it was a big run."Daniel Carlson missed the extra point, putting more pressure on the tired Raiders defense to stop Rivers. Trayvon Mullen was called for holding on a fourth-down pass to extend the drive Womens Austin Ekeler Jersey , but Joseph then intercepted a fourth-down pass from Rivers to seal it."That says a lot about our team," coach Jon Gruden said. "We have a lot of resilient guys. We compete. You may beat us. But we'll be a hard out to get. We'll battle."Rivers threw interceptions on his first two drives, falling into a 10-0 hole when Erik Harris took the second back 56 yards for a TD . But Rivers responded by throwing two TD passes, including the go-ahead score to Ekeler in his final start at the Coliseum. But he fell short at the end."You give a team 10 points at their place and then you have the ball with a chance to win at the end and you have eight snaps and go nowhere, it's going to be tough to win," Rivers said. The Raiders blew a chance to open up the game in the third quarter, settling for a field goal after driving to the 4 on the opening drive and then missing a 53-yard field goal in the next drive after DeAndre Washington got stuffed for no gain on third-and-1.The Chargers settled for a field goal after getting inside the 10 later in the quarter.Melvin Gordon had 22 carries for 108 yards and a TD that put the Chargers up 14-10 in the second quarter. The Raiders responded with their first sustained drive of the game and took a 17-14 lead at the half on Carr's 9-yard pass to rookie fullback Alec Ingold with 20 seconds remaining in the second quarter.PICK ITHarris intercepted Rivers' passes on the first two drives of the game. He returned the first one 59 yards to the 31, setting up a field goal by Daniel Carlson. Harris then took the second one back 56 yards for a TD http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-melvin-gordon-jersey , giving the Raiders a 10-0 lead. Harris became the first Raiders player since Phillip Buchanon in 2003 to have two interceptions, including a pick-6 in a single game.ROOKIE BREAKTHROUGHRaiders rookie pass rushers Clelin Ferrell and Maxx Crosby had big performances. Ferrell had 2 ½ sacks after recording none since the season opener for the most by a Raiders rookie in 28 years and also had five pressures, according to NextGen stats."That was a signature game for him," Gruden said. "That was great for him to get some sacks and maybe some of the people who are counting sacks out there will acknowledge those."Crosby had 10 pressures, including two on interceptions, and also added a half-sack.INJURIESChargers: LT Russell Okung left in the first quarter with a groin injury and didn't return. ... lead many of us to believe we have a good handle on how the draft will play out Reggie White Jersey , there are always surprises once the process actually gets underway.Teams need to be prepared in the event that things go in an unexpected direction in regard to a player dropping further than expected or a trade opportunity materializing out of nowhere. Those possibilities may be part of the reason for one pre-draft meeting the Eagles are taking on Tuesday.Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that former Houston defensive lineman Ed Oliver is visiting with the team. The Eagles currently own the 25th overall pick and Oliver is generally expected to be wearing the cap of another team by the time that pick comes around, but they’ll be ready should things wind up playing out differently.Garafolo adds that the Eagles are also meeting with former Ohio State wide receiver Paris Campbell. He’s likely to be available at No. 25 and the Eagles hold a pair of second-round picks that could be used to round out the receiver group. I really don’t know what to expect for today’s Philadelphia Eagles versus New England Patriots game.I don’t think there’s an outcome that would totally shock me. I can see the cases for both optimism and pessimism in this one. It’s hard to look at what little the Eagles are working with on offense and feel great about the Birds having much success against this top ranked Patriots defense. But maybe the Eagles can dominate in the trenches — not unlike they did when they last beat the Patriots in Super Bowl LII — and pull off the upset. Again Womens Mike Quick Jersey , I’d be lying if I said I had a great feel here. The Eagles could get embarrassed, just like they did when they faced the Minnesota Vikings and the Dallas Cowboys several weeks ago. The Eagles could also pull out an unexpected win http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-malcolm-jenkins-jersey , just like they did when they beat the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. The Dumbest Thing About Blake Bortles He Could Think Of So Other Analysts Wouldn’t Feel Bad Later Tonight If They Were Wrong Too If you’re having a tough day Womens Leonard Fournette Jersey , this clip from CBS Sports is like chicken soup for the soul!Brandon Tierney of CBS Sports decided to go on national television and talk about the Jacksonville Jaguars’ chances against the New England Patriots today without their star running back Leonard Fournette. Tierney, always thinking of others, said the most wrong thing he could think of so that when his fellow analysts’ bold predictions were proven wrong at the end of the day, they could all look back and say, “Well at least I’m not Brandon!”Here are Tierney’s comments in full:Wow! This is the kind of touching gesture that this divided country needs right now.Thank you for being you, Brandon. I don’t think anyone is going to forget it any time soon. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — With a straight face and a shoulder shrug, Jacksonville Jaguars coach Doug Marrone provided a subtle response to being criticized in Doug Pederson’s new book.In Pederson’s book released Tuesday Barry Church Jersey , the Philadelphia Eagles coach ripped Marrone’s decision to take a knee at the end of the first half of the AFC championship game. Jacksonville led New England 14-10 with 55 seconds remaining and two timeouts, but Marrone called for Blake Bortles to run out the clock and head to the locker room. According to ESPN Stats and Info, Jacksonville was the first team last season to take a knee with that much time remaining in the first half.Marrone received several texts about Pederson’s book — “Fearless: How an Underdog Becomes a Champion” — excerpts of which were released earlier this week.“I got a couple text messages, saying like, ‘Blah, blah blah, blah, blah http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-ereck-flowers-jersey ,'” Marrone said. “And I’m just like, ‘Hey, Doug won a Super Bowl. Doug did a great job of coaching. I’m sure there’s a long line of people that have the same questions or feelings. It’s just what you’re going to do.”Then Marrone dropped this nugget: He said he read a book written by Mark Manson during the offseason that ended up on The New York Times Best Seller list. The title? “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a (expletive): A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life.”Marrone never mentioned the title of Manson’s book in his response to a question about Pederson’s book. But his message seemed clear. Here’s one to bookmark now: The Eagles and Jaguars play Oct. 28 in London, an opportunity for the coaches to discuss their philosophies face to face.“So those things happen and that’s it,” Marrone said. “But I respect the hell out of him and his team and he won a Super Bowl, so. We lost, and when you lose, you question everything so I don’t have a problem with it.”In his book Womens Brad Nortman Jersey , Pederson said he watched the watched the game and was “screaming at the TV in my office” and thinking “you’ve got to be kidding me right now. It made me mad because Jacksonville had New England right where they wanted them.”The Patriots overcame a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat Jacksonville 24-20 and reach the Super Bowl. Pederson said Jacksonville’s cautious approach “fueled me.”“They could have at least tried for a field goal,” Pederson wrote. “They took it out of their quarterback’s hands, and they didn’t give to their big back Leonard Fournette. I thought, ‘If they lose this game, this is why.’ Sure enough they would go on to lose the game.”Facing a similar situation in the NFC title game against Minnesota, Pederson and the Eagles managed a field goal late in the first half after getting the ball with 29 seconds remaining. Two weeks later in the Super Bowl, Pederson’s aggression helped the Eagles claim their first Lombardi Trophy.

So, now we go through the exercise of giving out way too early “grades” on players that have never touched an NFL field!CDTShareTweetShareShareChicago Bears: Way too early 2019 NFL Draft gradesReese Strickland-USA TODAY SportsAfter 11 months of grueling preparation for most teams and draft analysts, the three-day event that is the NFL draft has officially come and gone. It was a fast and furious weekend in the football world Cody Parkey Jersey , even if the Bears didn’t make their first selection until late Friday evening. In the Ryan Pace era, many weren’t used to not seeing the Chicago Bears make a first or second round selection. But because of the pair of trades that gave them Khalil Mack and Anthony Miller, they found themselves playing the waiting game more than most teams.“Grading” this draft for the Bears was a little more difficult than usual. Yes, they only made five picks and none before the middle of the third round, but there are multiple factors to consider here. The trades and production of both Mack and Miller. The quality of players they were still able to find with limited picks.Pace absolutely killed the undrafted free agent portion of this exercise. With this in mind, I’m going to try and fairly evaluate what they did this weekend, without focusing too much on what they did this past season to put themselves in the position they were.(#73) Third Round: RB David Montgomery (Iowa State)Reese Strickland-USA TODAY Sports*Bears traded #87, #162 and a 2020 fourth rounder to Patriots for #73 and #205After just two running backs going in the first two rounds of the draft, a run started in the third round and it was apparent that Pace felt the need to trade up to land his guy. A few picks before Montgomery, the Rams shocked quite a few people and took Darrell Henderson (Memphis), which left just Montgomery and Damien Harris as the only top-tier running backs left on the board. Now, I’m not a big fan of the value Pace gave up to move 15 picks, but at least he kept both of his second rounders for 2020. As far as Montgomery goes, I had him graded as my fourth running back and most major publications had him graded as a late second or early third round pick. So in terms of the value of the player, it was a good pick. In terms of fit, he’s also a very good pick. Most will focus on straight line speed, but ignore the fact that he’s well-rounded. He can catch, he can run inside or outside zone and is a good pass protector. On top of that, he has some of the deadliest cuts coming out of the draft and led the FBS in broken/missed tackles over the past two years. He was also regarded as one of Iowa State’s top leaders and was called a “culture changer” once head coach Matt Campbell took over the program. He’s exactly the type of pick that Pace loves to make and one that should pay off from Day 1.Montgomery Grade: B+(#126) Fourth Round: WR Riley Ridley (Georgia)John David Mercer-USA TODAY SportsStarting off Day 3, it appeared that there would be maximum value at the defensive back position. Yet, as the picks started to fly, that depth started to dissipate and Pace found himself in yet another situation where he took the best player available on his board. That happened to be Ridley http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-khalil-mack-jersey , who was projected as a second round pick by most publications.Riley is the brother of Calvin Ridley, who was the Atlanta Falcon’s first round pick in 2018. Calvin had a break out year and some believe that Riley possess a similar skill set and ceiling. The biggest difference between the two? Riley’s production was not nearly as prolific at Georgia as his older brother’s was at Alabama. The 21-year-old fits the profile of a player with all the tools to be successful at the NFL level, yet has not come close to reaching his full potential. That can be viewed as a good or bad thing, but in the case of the Bears, they saw opportunity. The main reason to be optimistic? Ridley’s route running is something that will help him transition much easier. With any mid-round pick, there’s always going to be a sense of risk, but the fact that Pace was able to land Ridley at this point in the draft should only mean good things for the Bears down the road.Ridley Grade: A(#205) Sixth Round: CB Duke Shelley (Kansas State)Michael C. Johnson-USA TODAY SportsAdmittedly so, this was the first pick that I caught myself asking “Who?”. This is coming from an Oklahoma Sooners fan, who watches the Big 12 every weekend. Then I remembered that I rarely focus on defense because it is indeed the Big 12.So I had to turn back to the tape to get a better idea of exactly who the Bears got and I have to say, I’m impressed. Shelley is smaller (5’9, 181 pounds) and as Pace confirmed in their concluding presser, he will play in the slot as a nickel back. He’s an aggressive player that isn’t afraid to press off the line of scrimmage and most importantly, he’s a hard hitter. He may take some time to develop, but it seems as if defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano has a “type” at defensive back and that’s feistiness. Expect Shelley to develop into a bigger role as time goes on.Shelly Grade: B-(#222) Seventh Round: Kerrith Whyte (Florida Atlantic)Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY SportsHeading into Day 3, I thought running back was either a position they’d address again in the late rounds or use some of their resources to pull in a top priority undrafted free agent. Turns out, the Bears were thinking along the same lines and decided to target another speedster with big play ability in Whyte. Most people are probably aware of Devin Singletary, who was the FAU’s leading rushing and primary back. But Whyte was the guy that made a lot happen in a lesser capacity due to his speed. He ran a sub 4.4 time at his Pro Day after being snubbed for the combine and has big time ability as both a part-time runner and pass catcher. The team already has Tarik Cohen as a play maker and Cordarrelle Patterson is another guy that fits in that role as well. Even so, Whyte could prove to be a valuable pickup and is also an excellent special teamer that can return both kicks and punts. This is one of the more underrate selections in the final few rounds of the draft.Whyte Grade: A(#238) Seventh Round: Stephen Denmark (Valdosta State)It wouldn’t be a Bears draft without Pace going with at least one small school player. This year, it’s a physical freak in Denmark. Honestly, I still have zero clue as to where Valdosta State is, but I do know it’s a Division Two school and one that I wasn’t aware of until earlier today. Even so, Denmark’s testing numbers were off the charts. He’s a converted receiver and just transitioned to cornerback within the past year. He’s a raw player with a lot of physical ability. His height and overall length made him attractive Womens Walter Payton Jersey , but he’s going to be a project and one that the Bears will have to be careful protecting. I don’t see a big role in Year 1, but he’s also someone that may not survive waiver claims on the practice squad. His development over the next few months will be very interesting to monitor.Denmark Grade: B-Priority Undrafted Free AgencyI’m not going to get too heavy into this because there are 31 names that have either been signed or are being brought in on a tryout basis for next weekend’s rookie mini-camp.With that being said, I’d like to highlight a few names as to why I truly believe Pace blew the doors off this portion of the draft process.WR Emanuel Hall (Missouri)TE Dax Raymond (Utah State)OL Alex Bars (Notre Dame)How these three players went undrafted is somewhat baffling to me. Now, obviously we see this happen each year, but especially for a player like Hall, I was shocked when he was still on the board heading into Day 3, much less into this portion of the process. Hall had many projections in the third round due to his speed and overall ability. Raymond comes from a smaller school and the production wasn’t overly crazy, but he was still someone that he should have had his name called on Saturday, even if it was later in the day. Bars also fits that mold, but I would imagine that Harry Hiestand had a decent amount of pull in bringing him in. This may some hyperbolic, but I truly believe Bars can be Kyle Long’s replacement in a year or two. Health is the key for him, but if healthy, he’s a third or fourth round interior lineman.UDFA Grade: A+Overall GradeAgain, the Bears found themselves without a pick in the first two rounds and that needs to be taken into account. But even so, it’s hard not to like what Pace was able to do with limited resources. In a lot of ways, he took a few ingredients and turned it into damn-near a full draft worth of acceptable and borderline good talent with the help of his undrafted group.Guys like Montgomery and Ridley are going to contribute on Day 1, while others like Whyte will play roles and that’s completely fine. Pace’s track record speaks for itself, especially in the middle rounds and undrafted portion. All in all, I came away pretty impressed and more than satisfied with what they ended up acquiring and for that, I have to give this a good grade.Overall Grade: B
CARSON http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-derek-watt-jersey , Calif. (AP) — and the New Orleans Saints capped a productive week in Southern California with a 36-7 preseason win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday night.Saints quarterback Drew Brees was 7 of 9 for 59 yards with an interception in three series, while Philip Rivers was 5 of 7 for 29 yards in a brief tuneup appearance for the Chargers. This was the second consecutive year the Chargers hosted the Saints in a preseason game at StubHub Center following joint practices between the teams in Orange County. While the workouts came later in training camp than usual, the Saints built off two productive days with a strong performance in the traditional dress rehearsal for the regular season.Chargers first-round draft pick Derwin James intercepted a pass from Brees on the first possession of the game. James, the safety from Florida State, picked off a third-down throw into double coverage with Desmond King defending Ted Ginn Jr.The Chargers drove to the Saints 4 on the ensuing drive but elected not to attempt a short field goal, and Rivers’ fourth-down pass was too high for Mike Williams.Austin Ekeler finished with 50 yards rushing on six carries and added three receptions for 13 yards. With starting running back Melvin Gordon not with the team because of a family matter, Ekeler ripped off runs of 21 and 12 yards to his first two carries to get the Chargers moving.Los Angeles fared better on its second possession, with rookie Detrez Newsome scoring on a 5-yard run off left tackle. That marked the end of game action for Rivers, replaced by Cardale Jones early in the second quarter.New Orleans did not get its initial first-down until late in the first quarter when third-string quarterback and special teams contributor Taysom Hill moved the chains by running a direct snap on a fake punt around the left side. That helped set up Kamara’s short touchdown plunge seven plays later. The Saints took an 8-7 lead on a 2-point pass from Brees to Michael Thomas, the last throw Brees would make before giving way to Tom Savage.Wil Lutz kicked field goals of 25 and 35 yards in the final two minutes of the first half, and Hill scrambled for a 11-yard touchdown run and a 2-point conversion on a keeper late in the third quarter. Cornerback Marcus Williams added a 59-yard interception return for a touchdown, which came seven plays after a pass interference penalty against Williams negated a ricochet TD return by linebacker Craig Robertson.Hill threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Tre’Quan Smith to cap the scoring.INJURIESSaints: DE Trey Hendrickson was able to return after hobbling to the sideline early in the first quarter. A second-year player from Florida Atlantic Womens Travis Benjamin Jersey , Hendrickson has been a pleasant surprise in training camp as the Saints look to bolster their pass rush.Chargers: DE Joey Bosa (foot) did not play, but went through a series of agility drills prior to the game. Bosa has not practiced since sustaining the injury to his left foot on Aug. 7. … CB Casey Hayward (hamstring), CB Trevor Williams (ankle), and WR Tyrell Williams (foot) also sat out.UP NEXTSaints: Finish the preseason at home against the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday.Chargers: Finish the preseason at the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday. SAN DIEGO (AP) — Philip Rivers simply wanted to say thanks to San Diego for the way it supported him during his first 13 seasons in the NFL.He knew it wouldn’t be as easy as he still makes it look on the field on Sunday afternoons as quarterback of the Los Angeles Chargers.Understanding the anger and angst left behind when the Chargers moved two seasons ago, Rivers fought back tears as he accepted an award from the San Diego Sports Association at its annual Salute to the Champions dinner Thursday night. While the Chargers moved, Rivers didn’t. He and his burgeoning family continue to live in northern San Diego and he commutes up and down the 5 and 405 freeways to practices in Orange County and home games at a soccer stadium in Carson. Thus, the sports association named Rivers one of its professional stars of the year for 2018, along with snowboarding superstar and Olympic gold medalist Shaun White, Boston Marathon women’s winner Desiree Linden and Washington Nationals right-hander Stephen Strasburg.“I certainly understand the mixed feelings and emotions many in San Diego have about our move,” Rivers told the crowd in a hotel ballroom. “It’s more than understandable. Those that still cheer and pull for us each week, we certainly appreciate it. I again, personally, want to express my gratitude for all the love and support that I’ve always felt in and around town Keenan Allen Jersey , whenever I’m out and about.”On the verge of tears, Rivers paused to compose himself while the audience clapped. He continued to struggle as he finished.“As I try out there every Sunday, with that bolt on my helmet and 17 on my back, play like crazy with that passion and fight that that’s the only way I know how, I hope that there are some of you still here in San Diego that can still say, ‘That’s our quarterback.'”Rivers received a standing ovation as he walked away from the podium.Rivers understands the emotional upheaval caused when Chargers owner Dean Spanos, unable to get a stadium deal to his liking, moved the team from its home of 56 seasons. Many once-loyal fans say they’ll never cheer for the Chargers, no matter how beloved Rivers might have been. Many say that as much as they loathe Spanos for ripping away their favorite team, they support Rivers and want to see him finally win a Super Bowl ring. Others become angry when pondering that if the team ever does win a Lombardi Trophy, it would be as the Los Angeles, not San Diego, Chargers. Many San Diegans even swallowed hard and cheered for once-hated Tom Brady and the New England Patriots when they routed the Chargers in the divisional round three weeks ago http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-ladainian-tomlinson-jersey , once again leaving Rivers short of even playing for a championship.Rivers’ attachment to San Diego has as much to do with his family as football.“This town was so welcoming to me and my family when we arrived in 2004, my wife and I and one daughter,” he said as the crowd began to laugh, “and in a couple of weeks our ninth child will be here. We truly have enjoyed being a part of this community.”Rivers said afterward that it was important to accept the award in person.“You don’t know how many more times you’re going to get, publicly, to get to say thanks, really,” he said. “You know, small-town boy from Alabama ends up in California, in San Diego, playing 13 years and still living here now 15. You never know what it’s going to be like. I can be nothing but thankful for how it was for our family and how much I loved playing down here. All those things. I just thought it was important not to just go, ‘Yeah, OK Womens Jatavis Brown Jersey , I don’t think I can get over there,’ and just to be able to express that at least one more time.”Rivers, 37, continues to play at a high level and said he has a handful of seasons left. He helped lead the Chargers to a 12-4 record this season and back into the playoffs for the first time since 2013. He threw for 4,308 yards and 32 touchdowns, with 12 interceptions. He’s still never reached the Super Bowl.“Well, shoot, I thought this was the year, I really did,” he said. “We were in a groove and playing really well and we know what happened. It’s as good as a team as we’ve had in some time. This rivals that ’06 to ’09 group we had, when we really probably should have won two. We’re definitely going to be able to give ourselves a chance.”And he’ll still be a San Diegan.

According to Adam Schefter. Dillard has steadily made the rounds to a number of NFL teams and looks to be one of the most coveted players at his position. The former WSU Cougar has been one of my favorite prospects to watch this year and with the Chargers in desperate need to upgrade the right tackle position, it’s been even more fun to imagine Dillard pass-protecting for Philip Rivers in the twilight of his career. At 6-foot-5 and 310 pounds, Dillard was a top performer at the NFL Combine when he was one of four offensive linemen to run a sub-5.0 forty while excelling at the full gambit of athletic tests. One of the most notable drawbacks to Dillard’s game is the pass-heavy Air Raid scheme he was a part of under head coach Mike Leach. This obviously groomed him to be a top-tier pass protector but the lack of experience drive-blocking and general run game reps is the main aspect giving many pundits pause when considering him as a top-20 talent. There’s no doubt that he would be an immediate impact player for the Chargers were he to fall all the way to #28. I’d love the pick but chances are he is gone by then. But crazier things have happened, right? Coming out of high-school, Arrion Springs was the #6-rated cornerback in the nation, as well as a top-50 prospect overall according to ESPN. Following his senior year, he got participate in that year’s Under Armour All-American game.In his first season up in Eugene, Springs saw playing time as a reserve in 10 contests. After that year, he won a starting cornerback position and never looked back.He would go onto start all 12 games as a sophomore, leading the team with 12 passes defended while adding 53 tackles, a single interception, and a pair of forced fumbles. In 2016, his junior year, Springs started 9 of 12 games. He once again led the team with 12 PBUs togo along with 39 tackles Michael Badgley Jersey , with 3.5 going for a loss.In his final collegiate season, Springs was named an all-conference honorable mention selection after starting 12 of 13 games. He led the team for a third-straight year in pass break-ups with 18. He added another pick and four tackles-for-loss. Pro Football Focus also named him to their First-Team All-Pac-12 squad.Basic InfoHeight: 5-10Weight: 208College: OregonExperience: 1Years with team: 1Contract Status“Arrion Springs signed a 1 year, $495,000 contract with the Los Angeles Chargers, including an average annual salary of $495,000. In 2019, Springs will earn a base salary of $495,000, while carrying a cap hit of $495,000.” - Spotrac.comThe GoodJust by looking at his astounding number of passes defended, you can deduce that Springs as the natural ability of always being around the ball. Anybody having 42 of any stat is a crazy accomplishment.Even at 5-10. Springs can also stick to wide receivers that are plenty taller than him. He knows to play the ball through the hands of the pass-catcher which helps him make up for a lack of length.Spring is one of three defenders listed as a DB on the roster instead of designated as a cornerback or safety. This is because Springs offers the versatility to play either one in this defense and that might be a good thing for the former Duck. The BadHis number of PBUs at Oregon are a good thing http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-melvin-gordon-jersey , don’t get me wrong. But there’s something to be said about having 42 passes defended yet only having two career interceptions. I found this intriguing so I threw on some 2017 Oregon tape and, wouldn’t you know it, Springs dropped a lot of interceptions. And i’m talking “right in the hands”-type of picks. If Springs can’t right the ship for his hands in the NFL, it’s going to be a short-lived career.Odds of making the roster/What to expect in 2019Unless Springs can somehow bypass Brandon Facyson for the final cornerback spot, I don’t think Springs will be making this roster. However, I think he should be a priority to stash on the practice squad, just in case.Fun Fact: While at Oregon, he was named the team’s best video game player by his teammates. Also, he admitted to blaring Taylor Swift in his headphones prior to his games in college.
Here’s a Philadelphia Eagles focused rooting guide for all of the Week 9 games.EAGLES GAMECHICAGO BEARS at PHILADELPHIA EAGLES: The Eagles have the most to gain (or lose) of any NFC team this week Womens Rodney McLeod Jersey , playoff leverage wise. Just win, Eagles.NFC EASTWASHINGTON at BUFFALO BILLS: All Washington achieves by winning is screwing up their position in the 2020 NFL Draft. Might as well root for that to happen. Root against the Bills.DALLAS COWBOYS at NEW YORK GIANTS: The Eagles usually can’t count on the Giants to help them out by beating the Cowboys. Might that change now with Daniel Jones under center instead of Eli Manning? The Eagles will hope so. A Philadelphia win combined with a Dallas loss would give the Birds a 0.5 game lead in the NFC East. Also would be good to see the Giants hurt their draft positioning. Root against the Cowboys.NFC TEAMSMINNESOTA VIKINGS at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS: Easy call to root for the AFC team over the NFC team. Don’t let us down, Andy. Root for the Chiefs.TENNESSEE TITANS at CAROLINA PANTHERS: Easy call to root for the AFC team over the NFC team. Root for the Titans.TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS at SEATTLE SEAHAWKS: Seattle is obviously a much bigger threat to the Eagles in the NFC playoff picture. Root for the Bucs.DETROIT LIONS at OAKLAND RAIDERS: Easy call to root for the AFC team over the NFC team. Root for the Raiders.GREEN BAY PACKERS at LOS ANGELES CHARGERS: The 7-1 Packers aren’t missing the playoffs, especially given the way Aaron Rodgers is playing lately. I think it’s preferable to see the 49ers and the Packers clinch the top two seeds as opposed to the Saints getting in there. The Eagles have proven they can win at Lambeau, albeit by a thread. Winning in the Superdome seems more daunting. Root for the Packers.DRAFT PICK WATCHNEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS at BALTIMORE RAVENS: The Eagles own the Patriots’ 2020 fifth-round pick due to the Michael Bennett trade. It’s very likely going to be a late fifth but it’s always easy to cheer for the Pats to lose anyway. Root for the Ravens.WHAT’S LEFTHOUSTON TEXANS at JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS: If you want to see Nick Foles get his starting job back in Week 11, you’ll want Gardner Minshew struggle in a loss here. But such a defeat would significantly hurt Jacksonville’s playoff chances. Root for the Jaguars.INDIANAPOLIS COLTS at PITTSBURGH STEELERS: Easy to root for Frank Reich. Root for the Colts.NEW YORK JETS at MIAMI DOLPHINS: Don’t want Washington to get ahead of the Dolphins in the draft order. Root for the Jets.CLEVELAND BROWNS at DENVER BRONCOS: The Broncos are more likely to draft a quarterback so might as well root for them to be ahead of Washington in the draft order. Root for the Browns.BYE WEEKAtlanta Falcons, Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints Somewhere, perhaps in an alternate universe, is a world in which Howie Roseman didn’t trade with the Cleveland Browns for the No. 2 overall pick prior to the 2016 NFL Draft. He never sent five draft picks to the Browns: the No. 8 pick in the first round, a third-round pick (77th overall) and a fourth-round pick (100th overall) in that draft, a first-round pick in 2017 and a second-round pick in 2018, and Wentz was never drafted by the Eagles. In this other dimension Alshon Jeffery Jersey , Wentz never starred as an Eagle; not during his promising 2016 rookie season, not during his MVP-caliber 2017 campaign, one that helped clinch the NFC East and the No. 1 overall seed in the conference, ultimately ending in a Super Bowl title, and he never proved he was the team’s franchise quarterback. But in this timeline, Carson Wentz exists as the Eagles’ franchise QB and, in this timeline, he has taken a back seat to his back-up, Nick Foles, during the past two postseasons. While both played a huge role in winning a title last year, it was Foles who was the Super Bowl MVP and has a statue built outside Lincoln Financial Field. As a result, both spent time in 2018 navigating an awkward partnership that ultimately resulted in Wentz once again missing out on the postseason as Foles led another miraculous late-season run to return to the postseason, winning a playoff game along the way.And since we are in this timeline, this much is obvious after watching the 2018 season play out: Carson Wentz and Nick Foles should not be on the same team moving forward. This isn’t because there is friction between the two or that they don’t like each other. Both are good men who appear to genuinely care about one another. But if the goal is to develop Wentz into being the franchise QB he’s already shown he can be http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-lane-johnson-jersey , then Foles simply can’t be a part of things moving forward. On its surface, I realize this is a ridiculous thing to say. After all, Foles is 20-6 since his rookie season with the Eagles. He matched Tom Brady throw for throw in a Super Bowl for the ages, the most offensive Super Bowl in history. He is respected by everyone in the locker room for his leadership qualities and laid-back demeanor. Everyone loves Nick Foles. But that’s part of the reason why it’s time for both parties to move on.A heart divided is one in conflict, and the locker room clearly loves both players. Foles is older, calmer, and because of those things, a bit more mature. Foles has also already proven he can win big games, and that engenders a lot of trust in his teammates. But Wentz is the better player and, lest it be forgotten, was insanely good in 2017. Players loved him. They loved playing with him. There were no questions about his maturity or his leadership ability, because they were winning and he was healthy. It’s easy to forget how popular he was among his teammates before the injury, but let this serve as a reminder. However, as Wentz himself admitted earlier this week Womens Nelson Agholor Jersey , the 2018 season was a rough one for him as he tried to work his way back into the starting lineup and re-establish himself as the quarterback of this team. It would be understandable if Wentz was looking over his shoulder at his revered teammate and put extra pressure on himself this season, things that likely resulted in some of the issues raised by the Philly Voice piece a few weeks ago. It’s easy to say, “Wentz just needs to toughen up. We need to stop coddling him.” But it’s not about coddling and it’s not about toughening up. It’s about human nature. It’s very difficult to be an effective leader when someone as accomplished as Foles is your back-up. The other side of the coin is that it’s unfair to ask Foles to be the back-up QB moving forward. He’s proven he can lead a team and win. He’s proven to be a true No. 1 quarterback for a playoff team. Foles’ game has matured to the point there are a number of teams that should make him their go-to guy in free agency, and he’ll likely score a big payday as a result. If you are one of those people who would prefer to trade Wentz and keep Foles, it’s certainly a valid opinion. Foles has proven himself, and there’s no doubt the Eagles would continue to be successful with him at quarterback. They’d also likely get a haul for Wentz. But it would also be a huge risk, as Foles is never likely to achieve the ceiling that Wentz has already proven he can reach.Would the Eagles technically be in a safer place by having both Foles and Wentz on the team? Sure, but at what cost? What would that say to Wentz? How does it help him to play with one eye on the field and the other over his shoulder? There was a time when Joe Montana was constantly looking over his shoulder at a hard-charging Steve Young, who stood on the sidelines as his back-up for four seasons before San Francisco made the difficult decision to deal their franchise icon for the young, future Hall of Famer. They realized having two starting-caliber quarterbacks on the roster at the same time simply didn’t work for very long. This is not to say Foles is Steve Young, because clearly he isn’t. But Foles is a starting QB and should not be second fiddle to anyone at this point. At the end of the day, Foles is going to leave. The Eagles picked up his $20 million option, which Foles then voided by giving back $2 million. The Eagles could franchise him and work out a trade, but the more likely scenario is that Foles leaves in free agency.Whether it’s by trade or the free agent route Zach Ertz Jersey , Wentz is not going to have Foles back him up in 2019, and that’s for the best. It’s sad to see Nick go, and he will forever be a legend in Philadelphia. When his playing career is over, it would be phenomenal for him to be involved with the team in some official capacity. He will always be loved. But if Carson Wentz is going to take the next step forward in his evolution as a QB, he, and the rest of the locker room, needs to know this team is his. Everyone needs to know the huddle belongs to Wentz, and he needs to enter 2019 as the Alpha, fully healthy, ready to establish himself once again as one of the five best QBs in the sport.

We’ll be getting our first look at a bunch of new faces for this franchise. Dante Fowler considers the preseason finale at Tampa Bay a homecoming — and an audition.Even though Fowler is an integral part of Jacksonville’s vaunted defense, he will be on the field Thursday night against the Buccaneers. The reason: Fowler is suspended for the regular-season opener at the New York Giants, so the fourth-year defensive end will get a little more work before leaving the team for a week.Fowler welcomes the opportunity since he knows this is likely his final season in Jacksonville. He’s essentially starting his 2019 free agency pitch six months early.“Honestly my goal this year is really just to show people that I’m a franchise player,” said Fowler, who grew up near Tampa in St. Petersburg. “I’m an elite player. I’m one of the top defensive ends, linebackers, whatever you want to call me, in this league.”Fowler notched a career-high eight sacks last season, plus two more in the AFC championship game at New England. He averaged one sack for every 46.6 snaps played DJ Chark Jersey , better than Jaguars All-Pro defensive end Calais Campbell (55.2) and Pro Bowler Yannick Ngakoue (59.4).But Fowler’s off-field issues combined with the franchise’s belief Ngakoue is a budding star have made the fourth-year player expendable, especially since he’s a backup in the final year of his rookie contract and sure to land a starting role elsewhere.Just not yet.More Jacksonville Jaguars newsJaguars expect DE Yannick Ngakoue’s holdout to be short-livedJaguars rookie safety Zedrick Woods submits retirement paperworkJalen Ramsey says Jaguars don’t plan to give him contract extension this seasonJaguars sign former UCF running back Taj McGowan for added depthJaguars QB Nick Foles to miss OTAs for undisclosed ‘personal reason’The Jaguars want one more productive year from the third overall pick in the 2015 draft.“It’s not like I have to get double-digit sacks,” Fowler said. “When you watch me on film, even though I might be coming off the bench, they’ll be like, ‘That guy, he has a future.’ That’s all I want to do. I want to go out there and put great tape out there, being fundamentally sound, playing fast and physical, getting to the quarterback http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-a.-j.-cann-jersey , being stout in the run game.“I don’t want to just be known as a pass-rusher. I want to be known as a guy that’s going to get sacks and get 6-10 tackles a game. That’s just the type of player I am. So, I just want people to know that I’m known as a complete player on the field and I’m a professional and I’m a guy that cleaned up his act and left that past in the past. I’m ready to move on from that.”Fowler’s troubles have been well documented. He was suspended for a week during training camp following an after-practice altercation with Ngakoue. He also was arrested twice in as many years, including in 2017 for hitting a 55-year-old man. Fowler eventually pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges. The case was closed in March, with Fowler sentenced to a year of probation and 75 hours of community service. The NFL suspended him without pay for the opener, a one-game penalty that will cost him $214,000.Fowler also was arrested in 2016, although those charges were eventually dropped.Coach Doug Marrone said Fowler has been a model player since returning from the one-week suspension.“I have had no issues with him,” Marrone said. “He has been doing a good job.”Fowler insists he’s matured through it all, ready to focus on football and his future. He wants to be “a teddy bear off the field but a monster on the field.”“Just want to show people that the past, them three years Womens Marqise Lee Jersey , my rookie year coming in and all that, that learning experience is, that chapter is over with and it’s just about being a professional, being a grown man and just being the player that I want to be,” he said. “How I want my legacy to be? That’s honestly what it is. That’s honestly what I want my goals to be this year.”
