Due to inclement weather, Jackson’s game was postponed until today. On the other hand, Kane County’s game today was played yesterday as a part of a doubleheader. Hitter of the Day: L.T. Tolbert, 1B Kane County 3-5 with a grand slam, three run homer, a walk, and seven runs batted(Combined between Kane County’s two games)Pitcher of the Day: Cole Stapler, SP Visalia, 6IP two runs allowed on six hits and no walks, while striking out six.El Paso Chihuahuas 12 Reno Aces 7Anthony Vasquez got the start, and outside of the solo homer he allowed in the first, was solid through five innings. Vasquez allowed four hits and a walk, while striking out two. The Aces would score three runs in the second, two runs in the third, and a run in the fourth, putting the Aces up 5-1 after the fourth. Robby Scott would come on in the sixth, and after getting a quick fly out, would allow a single, a two run homer, a triple, and then a strike out. A single later, and the run would score from third, and Scott would allow one more single, before being taken out of the game for Joey Krehbiel. Krehbiel would walk the first two batters he faced, the first loading the bases, the second forcing a runner into the make the score 5-6. After a mound visit, Krehbiel would give up another single, allowing two runs to score, putting El Paso up 7-6. A grounder right back up the middle to Krehbiel would end the inning. Krehbiel would come back out for the seventh, and allow another run thanks to a solo homer. Braden Shipley would come on for the eighth and allow a homer to the first batter he faced, followed by a walk, a pop out, and another walk before allowing a two run double. After a strikeout, Shipley would uncork a wild pitch, allowing the runner on first to go to second. A single to the next batter would then allow the fourth run of the inning to score 12-6. Shipley would come out for a second inning and pitch a scoreless ninth. The Aces did try to rally in the ninth, but came up short, scoring only a run. Yasmany Tomas was 2-5 with a solo homer in the fourth inning, Abraham Almonte was 2-5 with a pair of doubles and a walk. Travis Snider continues his hot hitting, going 2-4 with a double and a walk. Snider has had two hits in six consecutive games, has reached base at least two times in eight consecutive games Manny Machado Jersey , and is batting .517/.622/.621 on the year.Visalia Rawhide 4 San Jose Giants 2Cole Stapler got the start for Visalia, and pitched six innings, giving up two runs on six hits, while walking none and striking out six. Stapler was even better than the numbers suggest, really only getting in trouble and allowing a run in the first inning, and allowing another runin the fifth, thanks to a solo homer. Junior Garcia pitched two innings and was quite excellent, allowing just a walk, while striking out three. West Tunnell pitched a scoreless ninth, allowing two hits and no walks, while striking out two.The Rawhide got on board in the second. Jake McCarthy lead the inning off with a double, and after an error on a picking off throw, Anfernee Grier would double, scoring McCarthy, but would be out at third trying to stretch a double into a triple. Camden Duzenack would double, and after a quick flyout, would advance to third on a wild pitch. Jancarlos Cintron would walk, and then Mark Karaviotis would hit a sac fly scoring Duzenack. Jancarlos Cintron would then be thrown out trying to steal second, ending the inning.The Rawhide would add two more runs with Luis Alejandro Basabe hitting a solo homer to lead off the fifth, and Camden Duzenackhitting his own solo homer in the eighth.Camden Duzenack was 2-3 with a double and a homer. Jake McCarthy doubled, walked and scored a run. Mark Karaviotis was 1-3 with a sac fly.Peoria Chiefs 3 Kane County Cougars 9 Justin Vernia went five and two thirds inning, giving up two runs on six hits, while walking none and striking out two. After getting two quick outs in the sixth, Vernia would allow a single, before being taken out fo the game for Justin Miller. Miller would come on and allow a two run home run, before getting an out to end the sixth. Miller would come back out for the seventh and pitch a scoreless inning, ending the game. In the first inning, after a fly out from Eduardo Diaz, back to back walks to Geraldo Perdomo and Andy Yerzy, followed by Alex King getting hit by a pitch would load the bases. The next batter, Alek Thomas, would strike out, but L.T Tolbert would hit a grand slam, putting Kane County up 4-0 nothing after the first inning. In the bottom of the third, Geraldo Perdomo would draw another walk, and then Andy Yerzy would double putting runners on the corner. Alek Thomas would come up short, but would reach on a fielder’s choice, with Perdomo out a first, and Andy Yerzy advancing to third. With two outs, LT Tolbert would come through again with a three run homer. Jose Herrera and Jorge Perez would lead off the bottom of the fourth with back to back homers, padding Kane County’s lead to 9-1.Peoria Chiefs 1 Kane County Cougars 0After great offense in the first game, the Cougars just couldn’t score in this one Chris Davis Jersey , despite some solid pitching. Erin Baldwin went four innings, allowing just a hit and a walk, while striking out three. Wesley Rodriguez would then pitch two scoreless innings, allowing just a hit while walking none, and striking out two. Pimentel actually had a solid inning, but unfortunately the lone hit he gave up was not only a home run, but the difference maker in the game. Kane County was limited to just five hits and three walks. Lt Tolbert and Eddie Hernandez were the only Kane County batters to reach twice, both with a single and a walk. Andy Yerzy was the only Kane County batter to have an extra base hit, a double.
